BTW, your yard is sick in an OMG kinda way!

Thanks TK:

Most of those steamers will find their place in the Roundhouse once I have the front of the Roundhouse weathered.

The photo tutorial of a Soundtraxx Micro Decoder for the SP AC -12 Cab Forward is for anyone who wants to install a sound decoder in the Cab Forward. The tutorial is found on page 137 of this thread.

Rick:

You can always make your time frame on your layout include part of the steam transition era.

A closeup photo of the two SP AC-12's on the double mainline track of the JJJ&E. The slow speed performance of these AC-12's using DCC is remarkable.

LOVE this shot!

I just set looking at the shot and then I realized this is a model. Reminds me of one picture taken in Bakersfield by one of my family of Rails. I have no idea where it is today. Seems my pictures have been lost in moves and the like. Anyway, lost forever but almost retrieved in this shot.

Nice work Bob.
If you look long enough, you are bound to find a prototype for what you desire to model.

The Rails still call them switches.

Have Fun!

The Roundhouse has 24 stalls plus ten outside service tracks. That will be enough to store most of the steamers in the Switching Yard. However most of these will be rotated in and out of service so other steamers not on the layout can get some running time.

Rick:

I'm happy to hear that the above photo brought back pleasant memories of an actual photo you had taken in Bakersfield. I'll post a few more photo's later tonight if I have time.

I have to agree with Rick and Espeeman, I love the shot of those AC-12's.
