nice shots EVERYBODY. Here a few from me Geeps idle on the wye after bringing a train into the yard F units run light back to the yard (BTW, do ya like color or B&W better?) the yard switcher, this time a 2-6-0 and GP40-2, headed out of the yard to pick up a MOW caboose
Thanks Dave, and everyone. Most of it is styrene from Evergreen, Plastruct, Grandt Line and a little company out of Colorado that makes brick pattern. There are a few metal parts and I used paper for the soffit under the eves where the ornimental painting is on the prototype. I just copied a closeup photo and printed it on my computer to make those.
A busy start to the weekend, already on page 3. I have been meaning to finish off the weathering on this loco for some time, but just hadn't got round to it. So last night I got the acrylics and chalks out to get the job done. Here's the photos Jon
Its what I've got Well this one is not up to any of the fine standards set here, but hey its what I have so far Colorado and Southern 0-4-0T No. 1 with a work train leaving the yard at Como. The gondola is the first scratch built On30 car my son and I built. John
at first glance my initial thought was, "why is he posting a prototype photo on the layout pics thread?", then I looked closer. It was that faded seabbord car that was most convincing. How'd you do that? That is some good weathering.
Jon, that is awesome. Nice work. Side question. Do you belong to a club or organization where you can run your big steam or do you just collect it because it's so cool looking? Your layout is pretty small for running big steam.
No The artic is of course totally unsuited to my small switching layout. I bought it on a whim last year just to have an articulated loco - Bachmann have done a great job on the loco at an affordable price - although it looks daft hauling half a dozen hoppers on a local freight. Jon
On the other hand, I would give my eye teeth for a small Beyer-Garret(sp?) working the 2-1/2% grades of the Saucier & Southern Railway's Mountain Division.....:shade: I'm trying to duplicate the route where the Maine Central had to assign two Consolidations and one or two Ten-Wheelers to haul ~25 loaded boxcars through the White mountains of New Hampshire......mg:

SAMRA Train Show, San Antonio I thought this was an interesting scene on an NTrak module at the SAMRA train show. More pictures in a later thread. This is a common practice for feeding a few cows in Texas.
