I would like to see Atlas do all of these that they have done in HO and O!!! Urodoji and DaveD, it is completely my fault those locomotives haven't been released. I have the shells and detail parts to build both for the EJ&E. When I get around to them, I PROMISE Atlas will release DT-6-6-2000s and SD38-2s before my paint dries !!! I love JoeTodds idea of SW cow and calf sets. Another manufacturer made them a while back, but the calves were dummies. I solved that, but it was a PITA. Only dummies buy dummies !!!
Please get started as soon as you are able. I've been waiting for these in EJ&E for only 50 years now.
Another vote here for the RSD-15's. One thing I would like to see is a re run of the A1G whale belly tank cars that a so hard to find at an affordable price. Anybody with me on that one?
I vote for the RSD-15 as well. Strange that in all this time since that horrid Yugoslavian PMI company did one... that no other company has made an attempt to put out a top quality version. I like tank cars as well... so I guess a whale belly tank would be interesting. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
I would like to see a 1970’s era Copper Ore 2 Bay Hopper car. I would purchase at least 2-4 dozen of these.
Hmmm.... Atlas has brought out so much of my wish list over the last few years- Central Michigan U-boats, GTW GP38-2, all I could wish for is a chance to add another Detroit and Mackinac C425 (or 2 or 3). Yeah, 3 more would be enough considering they only had 4 of them. Saw 3 of the 4 running North to Grayling on the point of a freight one night- A magnificent sight it would be nice to be able to replicate.
Iowa Interstate EV caboose to match the Diesels. Saw it in a video several years back, but can't find it again !!! It was being used around the Silvis area.
If Atlas re-releases the Life-Like C424 it would be nice for them to fix some of the detailing problems. This thread pointed out that, for example, there's a large gap between the trucks and the frame, and that the cab shape is incorrect (easy fix there- just use the C628/C630 cab). https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/lifelike-c424-the-gap.123373/ I'd like to see Atlas release the GE U18B in N scale. Admittedly, not many railroads used them, but SCL, SBD, CSX, MEC, and PW rostered them and those railroads are all popular with US model railroaders.
I truly believe there is a void to be filled with big Baldwins. I filled mine with four Shapeways DT-6-6-2000s and Atlas chassis' for my EJ&E, but that doesn't help anyone else. Alco C415s are possible now with Briggs Manufacturing and Atlas chassis'. They won't be cheap, but I REALLY want them !!! The only locomotives that I really NEED now are Alco C636s for BN, EMD SDP-40s with correct rear pilot / steps for BN, and an FM switcher. A CRI&P AB-6 would be cool, but those will NEVER be made. If this counts as voting, I would go with the Baldwins and C636s. My other "wants" are far too rare.
I didn't dive deep into the details, but Baldwin's DRS-4-4-15 and AS-16 were similar and found ownership across the U.S.. The newer AS-16's uniform thickness frame was the primary distinguishing feature between the two and some hood changes also took place over production years. Their two-axle trucks would be better on my road's curves. DRS-4-4-1500's were sold to the LV, Erie, M&StL, MP, NYC, NP, PRSL, and WM. The AS-16 found ownership at B&O, Erie, MP, SOO, MKT, NKP, PRSL, RDG and WM. LV's sole DRS-4-4-1500 was their No. 200:
