    Kill them!

    Bear down Chicago Bears!

Anyway, I'm a fan, but unfortunatly, a lot of the pictures I took with my little Kodak 110 camera are gone forever.

I've posted these before, but they bare repeating.

(raises hand franticly) C&NW fan (and maybe modeler) here! I loved C&NWs SD38-2s and SD45s.

Indeed, we are still here. I don't have much to add as I am a long way from the Midwest now and don't have much new information. I am following the restoration of the Racine depot. I believe it will be finished this year and by next year AMTRAK should be stppping there.

    Another CNW fan lurks.....

    Hello,

I grew up in Madison Wisconsin in the 60's, and 70's. My house was right behind the west-end of the CNW's Monona yard. Looking out my back window I had a veiw of the roundhouse(still in operation then) and have lots of memories of the CNW in and around that area. I grew up to become an engineer for the WSOR and worked out of that very yard!! Everyone should be so lucky!!

If I can help with any info feel free to ask.

I grew up nowhere near Chicago, but my dad did, and I'm happy to say that I saw those bi-levels as a kid in Lake Forrest. Pulled by an
E-unit probably, and the engineer gave a friendly toot-toot on the horn as they passed us. :)

Also remember being somewhere (maybe Wisconsin?) and watching CN&W Geeps switching a small yard. Some of my earliest and foggiest train memories, but I remember what the paint scheme was! Definitely a fan...

Hi everyone .Long time since I was last on the Trainboard .I too am a fan of the C&NW. I just love the paint scheme .I've never been to the states and rely on the internet for information and pics. I am trying to proto freelance the line here in Australia.

Brings back many memories of seeing these come through Glen Ellyn in the 70's. Used to hear those F7's from all over town. Loved getting caught at the gates in town and watch the trains go by (lots of them with a triple line running through), although my parents never really enjoyed it as much as me...

Been in the Boston area since '79 and never saw nearly as many trains.

    Hi y’all!
I’m a longtime Northwestern fan here on the other side of the Atlantic (& Mediterranean!).
I started following the C&NW just a couple of years before the takeover and managed to get across the pond in late 1995 in order to do some train watching. I think I saw just one modern Geep switching in Chicago, spent most of my time out west getting views of the Espee. Little did I know that too would disappear shortly.
I still do love both roads but mainly model the C&NW in H0.
    Cheers,
    John in Greece

This is an old thread that long pre-dates me on TrainBoard, but it's good to find and good to read your post. My family lived on the Harvard Sub of the Wisconsin Div from '66 through '80. I've posted some photos in the photography thread here, most taken in the mid 1970s.

Sometimes units without the cheek numberboards just look naked....

I have been trying to recall how many times we have changed software, since the first post in this topic. And I believe this was before Charlie set up RailImages?

I think there are quite a few of us CNW fans left. We are just kind of like old locomotives painted in Zeto yellow - ghostly.

I became a CNW fan at a very young age. That would be me, the little one between two big brothers. March 1955.

Both my Life-Like E8's are #5023A. One was supposed to be 5024B but the seller had the wrong loco in the box.

Have not seen one of those in quite some time! Too bad the criminals have done their dirty work.
