So you like ShotCut? It's awesome and easy really. I don't know any of the advance stuff really. Just the basics for quick videos. Did you add music or was that just background noise from you camera mic? Nice video, quality of video is excellent. 1080 or 4K?
It works, and has some nice features like that lap dissolve. It's still early days but it will do nicely. That background is idling diesels...needed something to cover up the sound of shuffling flip flops And it had to be simple because I haven't yet reinstalled Adobe Audition on this machine. There were a couple of spots I panned too fast, and I missed one edit near the beginning. I was shooting 4K with a DJI Pocket 2. Of course I also spotted a few things to take care of when I get the trains back into staging...
Here's another Oakville video, this time an eastbound, most comprehensive of the bunch: [youtube] Anything else you'd like to see?
Amazing! Gotta be the least compressed layout ever. But those fence posts would have driven me bonkers.
Most of the fenceposts were pretty easy - but the fence with wire along the south side of Oakville yard was a killer! (seen toward the end of the journey...) I thought briefly of doing that everywhere - for about two point one nanoseconds. As it is there's more than 20 feet of that...
Nothing on the Sub of late (except JFRTM) but have done something in N Scale. Here is a generational house I designed - after doing a floorplan, I just HAD to build it. Three shots, front, rear, and apart. Surely not a great build but I learned a ton in the process and had a lot of fun as well... Will it ever get built? Not without the intercession of an architect and perhaps more importantly the right plot of land in the right location - locally a near impossibility, but you never know.
It worked beautifully, Ryan. There are some things a floor plan simply won't show you. All about the feel. Current plan is to have the layout tours for the Nashville N Scale Convention plus any private tours (June 2022), then it will come down. There's really no way to salvage it, I didn't design it to be taken apart and reused. Thoughts are to play around with modules of some sort. Too early to tell right now. Will the house be built? Unknown at this point. Finding a piece of property is gonna be tough. Could there be a basement? Maybe. Main reason for the house is to eliminate stairs for some occupants. All necessities on the main floor. Plenty of craft space upstairs...and I'm not having trouble with stairs...
I'm doing modules simply because I don't live in my "forever home" yet, and really don't know when that will happen. I've moved some of my modules twice, and it's nice to be back up and running in very little time. A few years ago, I stripped my modules down to the plywood and restarted the layout. It was nice to have the benchwork already done, and was able to start laying track almost immediately. I highly recommend modules!
Amazing work on the DQ Grill & Chill. I am just now starting on this kit. How did you do the drive through sign?
Easy peasy - went to my local DQ, took a picture, printed it on photo paper, laminated it to .010 styrene. Same with the interior menus. Sadly, our local DQ has turned into a Chipotle. I grew up where the very first DQ was served and miss it a lot.
Our local DQ looks like an old barn ! I think it's been here since Show Low was founded !! https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/03/7a/5e/58/dairy-queen.jpg I have thought of modeling it...but...there is no more room on T.H.E.R.R.
The ice cream joint isn't as large here but much the same design with very little color variation in the front façade. We hot rodders/bikers collected at A&W.
