Its still ugly but i thought i would show the little engine running on the track. Still having issue with headlight. I think i need to find the option for lower voltage first. I may have to replace the current head light Before i can get the cv,s to work. Will figure it out. Just takes time. I have lots of that. Video below

Well, Back a bit. I was putting lights in that little engine and crossed wire and it smoked. Going back to digitrax. Should have it back in awhile. Scenery can be done while waiting...

Ouch. Does their warranty cover such accidents?

Yes! Digitrax has a Goof Proof warranty for the first year. You do have to pay a small fee for "processing" but it's certainly much cheaper than you buying a new one.

Funny, It didn't say anything about a processing fee. I guess i better see the fine print on the bottom of the page again.
Yep, 17.00 fee. Almost not worth it. New chip is 26 bucks.

$26??? Where? Even that great mail order house in Maryland is selling them for $32 or so. Then there's shipping. So for $17, it may not be that bad.

22 + Shipping. Mid-west area of the country. Fifer is the closest to me. I get most of my stuff from him.

$22 must not be the drop in decoders but rather the hard wire ones. Still saves you about ten bucks if you factor in shipping.

No one sales a chip for Bli locos but Bli. I have had more than enough with those drop in sound cards. Only way to do it is hard wired. I was fine till i crossed the wires before i used heat shrink. Was making sure they worked before i cleaned up my wiring. Poofed it went and smoke just for extra fun and games. I have a hard time with wiring as it is, but these hard wired engines are so hard for me. My hands have such a issue with small things. I am supposed to see the doctor tomorrow but with this weather coming in no way i am going out in it. I have two things out there somewhere one to Bachmann and now one to Digitrax. Gonna be making more ordering this month. Always something with a hobby!

While waiting for parts, I started doing some scenery. Just grasses and weeds, brush. Started on the right side. Its the biggest mountain on the layout. Shots below

Looks like a logging camp. Row houses and nothing fancy anywhere. I think you are capturing the feeling and look just right (y)(y)

I got into it again today. I made it to the river by the trestle and for now quit. I want to do the trestle work on booth sidesHands hurting and with the weather the appointment today cancelled because of the weather. All i can do is do what i can do. I want to do the trestle on both sides in one shot. Maybe later this evening or tomorrow. Shots below Smoke(y)

Maybe leave the logging camp scene itself barren...no trees...I like the look. :)
Put some trees up on the hill behind the track.
    As always....Rule #1 applies.(y)
