Yep, it's actually a shopping center, lot of small businesses, an IHOP, Taco Bell, Chic-Fil-A, etc... in walking distance. Makes sense I guess? Have no clue how long it takes to charge a vehicle? Wanted the picture so IF I add an area to my layout I would have a reference. Although mine would be must simpler me thinks?
Finally opened up my Just Plug Wood street lights I bought a few month's back. Like the new connector!
Testing the New Just Plug street lights and locations on layout above the base. Right now they are just lined up in a row. Man these things are touchy. Since I am being cheap and only using one Hub, ( so far ) have to figure out how to bundle the ones on Base B, to be able to unplug separately from the Base A ones? Should be fairly simple, I hope? These wires in N Scale or so tiny! Look at the rats nest by the painters tape
Makes me think I'll do without such lighting. The union says we can only work during daylight hours. Lady next door probably thinks so as well.
I feel stupid...again. After years of fighting with these tiny arse wires for the Just Plug system, trying to get them twisted together and into the tiny arse little junction box. I could have been twisting them together, and attached to a larger wire with a twist connector ( possibly temporary ), and just putting the large wire into the connector. When you just twist the tiny wires together and try to put them in the RED & Black connector some wires always fall out, and I work for hours to get them all in, plus they are so sensitive cause they don't connect well, lights flicker, go out, turn on, and then off. Once again, I feel really stupid, WHY, couldn't I have figured this out years ago You ever feel stupid? Now I need to look for a small two pin Male & Female connector just when I want to unplug my Just Plug lights from Base A or Base B mainly, it's just a simple task, I hope. I hate feeling stupid But it is what it is It's just a mock up till I figure out the final version. But so much easier. "Stupid is as stupid does", Forrest Gump, I think? I don't have all of them working yet, but I am really, really close!
That fits me to a tee. My established technique usually involves breaking what I'm working on, then discovering what I should have done in the first place.
Alright we have light's, lots and lots of street lights. Of course most are a mock up to see where or if I want to place them in their location. Looks really cool in person with the room overhead light out. Picture although taken in the dark, doesn't do it justice We have a total of 12 street lights now! And they ain't cheap either, but it has been over the years though. First 6 a few years ago, new 6 wooden street light bought a few month's back. The room is no where near that bright. Lately been leaving them on over night, cause they look so cool! Let's just say they are one huge night light And when the Kato locomotives are going around with their lights on, epic! Well to me anyway!
They sure do, and look nothing like any of the photo's. You just have to be there to see how cool they really look! Also if I remember correctly, yours was kind of a pain in the arse to wire up? Me thinks? Actually they all are, really! But once completed, and I am not done yet, they are so nice!
Forgot my iPhone 13, automatically adjust for darkness. Had to turn it OFF and the table lamp too. Still not as good as being there, but better! Lot of light leaks on the warehouse building on the left It's all pretty much mock up anyway!
Man, that looks GREAT! I can't wait until I get to mess around with lights on my railroad someday. Gotta admit that seeing lights takes me back to my Lionel days, with my brother's HO race set on the same table. It was all so cool, with the Plasticville houses glowing from grain-of-wheat bulbs inside.
Don't use woodland just plug but have 1 WS pre-built LED structure and while the DuPont connectors work OK, will probably get something like these.. And will replace the DuPont's on the station tower, non woodland, since there are packaged 5 each. https://www.amazon.com/JST-XH-Balan...a2486&pd_rd_wg=vqcxt&pd_rd_i=B07YKHV46N&psc=1 or https://www.ebay.com/itm/125121077331
The ones at Amazon look exactly like the WS plugs unless they are larger? The WS extension cables I just bought look exactly like those! I could use the extra connectors I have to connect Base A & Base B DCC & AC but they are so BIG might look weird, but would work. Heck no sense in spending more money when these will work And I have no other use for them at this time!
Only because I am getting to old to crawl under the kitchen cabinets below the layout to wire the lights in. All the lights are now done...so no more being a contortionist to do it.
Believe connectors are identical. If I had plans to use more WS prelits, would have bought already to interface to custom lighting and eventual DCC control. Agree 100% about finding a way to use something already owned. Dupont breadboarding connectors and 1985 Atlas solid turnout control wire for just about all lighting.
Is that what the WS connectors or called and the ones like them on Amazon & eBay, Dupont connectors? The company Dupont make them? Just curious! BTW, if it's true these are the exact same size as the WS ones, I could save some money in the future making my own extension cables, me thinks?
