Atlas, Minitrix N Gauge 2-Rail Model Train Locomotive, Train Car, and Track Lot | eBay< Me, personally I would not $ that much for.. note condition. see accompanying photo. Tom
The posting below is an extreme example, but body shells for locomotives produced in the last 20 years or so have become crazy expensive, often nearing $50 Ea. Mind you they don't often sell at these levels, but what was once $25 has inexplicably doubled in the last few years. Typical eBay wackiness I guess.
1/150 N Scale Twin Towers Kit Train Scene Building Model Modern City Landmark | eBay There's 2 available - better buy 'em both at that price!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285080228911?hash=item42601b142f:g:gjYAAOSwfnRijk-r The sixty five bananas is a little bit jacked up. This looks like the last edition of C-C's PAs with the power chassis built with up-to-date construction methods. That power chassis actually is pretty good. I have two of them. It is the eight hundred twenty five bananas shipping that eats me. What? Is the seller sending it in a vintage Rolls-Royce or Imperial limousine with armed guards? EDITORIAL NOTE: I checked the listing again. While the box does appear to be the one in which the latest edition of the PAs came, I noticed that it had Rapido couplers. The last edition of the PAs had MTs. Thus, the sixty five dollar price tag is too high, although it is not ridiculous. This is probably either the Chinese or Mexican knock-off of the old Kato mechanism The price for the unit would not land it on this topic. The shipping will.

When I was still selling on that site, I always looked at the listing created, carefully, before submitting it. And then again when it was up. It is fascinating how many people do not review....
This always has escaped me about both FeePay and train shows. You see the same stuff, week after week, listed for the same jacked up price. When I list something on FeePay, if it does not move after two or three weeks, I drop the price or pull the listing. Sometimes, if you leave it off the site for a week or so then list it again, it moves. If I am going to keep up the listing, I drop the price. Finally, I am realistic about what something is worth. I know that a LL plastic frame FA-2 with dummy B is NOT worth seventy five bananas. If I am going to sell one, I am not going to list it for that. The shows are similar. You see these same people, who lug the same stuff that is way overpriced to the same shows and it looks like they never sell any of it. You must wonder how they pay for their tables. I never buy from them. There really is not anything out there that I want or need that badly Between late 2015 and mid 2022, I went to perhaps four shows. Nothing had changed. This past Sunday, girlfriend and I went to a G-berg for the first time since late 2015. I saw vendors there with stuff that they had in 2015 they had jacked up the prices jacked even higher.. If they could not sell it for X dollars in 2015, what makes them think that they can sell it for X plus Y dollars in 2022? This must explain it. This is what I do. I proofread the listing. Then I press "preview". I proofread again. Finally, I press "submit" (or whatever it is). I proofread again. Despite that, every once in a while, still I miss something.
Ah, yes, the Pre-eBay Humor Department. One example was a guy on my "In Person Ignore List" who was trying to sell a C&O Ferry Service Paper Plate for $8. It was on his table for years. I wonder what happened to it... I suspect it was not an actual purchase.
