Deacon..Holy Crap!!! I don't even have enough fillings in my mouth for that order!! My wife don't too!!!
From where I sit, the only possible explanation is the seller blew it when computing their conversion from yen to dollars.
Given the last few postings, my decision to abandon eBay 5 years ago seems to have been a very good idea. I decided the preorder systems that are in place are a much better idea. Waiting on my Kato Big Boy!
I would like to find one of those FMs. (Any scheme, must run excellently and be absolutely complete, except handrails. Preferably from the Minitrix issue. But those prices? I'll have to keep watching.

EBay has become a 'sucker magnet'...please, make the Readers Digest/Hi Speed freebie trains go away! No matter what I search for (on the now rare times I search EBay), if it has So Pac in the search, these continue to come up in the listings.
Another FVM B&O wagontop caboose came and went yesterday, this one for $86.00, between previous sales at $40.50 and $145.49. There are nine different paint variations and twenty six distinct models with differing road numbers. I wonder if collectors are seizing specific ones.
I wonder if the runs were all of equal size? If not some cars might be harder to locate. Or, there is some way that one variant if more desired than others- such as possibly an era?
I read that the IRS has "delayed" the imposition of the $600 reporting threshold that required a Form 1099-K to be sent to taxpayers after eBay sales and other transactions. This affects the 2022 tax year only which is now defined as a "transition period". It's a little hazy, but it appears that the law will go into effect for the 2023 tax year. There's been some talk in Congress about increasing the threshold and somehow eliminating the requirement when using payment apps amongst friends and family. This poorly written law has clearly created quite a mess. If changes for tax year 2023 are like the recent announcement for tax year 2022, taxpayers and businesses won't likely know what the revised tax code is until late December 2023. I'll sit this one out for another year. Beam me up, Scotty.
As if they didn't wait long enough to announce the delay in reporting threshold. I stopped selling stuff or discarded unless having a receipt. Being one who sells just "garage" sale stuff, the change to 600 was poorly conceived and executed. There was no defined method to address the cost basis of items sold for those who use eBay or other other online sales outlets to unload their stuff unless filing additional forms as a business or consultant to report cost of goods sold. If one paid $2000 for a rarely used or never used item and sells on eBay a couple years later for $700, should be able to "CLEARLY" write off the net loss, less depreciation if applicable, assuming the threshold remains at the $600. Unless, of course, the GOV and IRS is going to start requiring that the proceeds from non online cash garage sales in addition to local FaceBook Mktpl and Craigs List classified sales, are to be reported. LOL There were alot of things sold on ebay to keep out of the dumps. Before the change to $600 End result of 2022 Proposed Change
