Has anyone here ordered from Royale Models? I put in an order back on Jan. 30th and got an e-mail invoice and it was paid for with PayPal. Haven't heard anything since, such as a tracking number. I sent an email yesterday but still now reply. Curious if others have had an order delay with no notification? I can't find an address for them. Are they in the U.S.? If not maybe that explains the delay. Sumner
Hi Sumner, I have ordered from John at Royal Models at least a half dozen times or more. He is a member here on TB - @greatdrivermiles A time or two it was a little slow but always got my order and it was always as expected or better. I know one Hopefully John will get back with you soon and get everything fixed sir.
Sorry about that, with one thing and another I got very behind on the orders. I have replied to your email with the tracking number.
I know my eyes are bad, have an appointment for new glasses in March 2023, but this is 3D printed N Scale and most prices are $10.00, for I guess the tractors and like a dump truck, and trailers around $18.00? Shipping can't be that bad as all of this is lite weight? Like the garbage truck is $15.00 with 3 tiny trash bins, and I know they are tiny, had a friend print me some out. Any pictures of a the dump truck painted? Just want some ideas. I mean Green would work. Paint Pens work? Guess where I am shopping soon Gonna at least give it a shot, on a few items! Anyone know the time frame?
Thanks for getting back and no problem. Having had my own businesses most of my life I understand how things can back up. Looking forward to the models and I'm sure I'll be back for more. Sumner
Here is one of John's prints, nice work. Not afiliated, just satisfied customer. Yes, he gets slow sometimes, just hang in there:
Wow those look amazing. So not sure I have the talent y'all have, but I think I can pull off the dump truck! What you use, paint pen, paint brush, airbrush, etc... Great work! They are really tiny correct? Here is a 3D printed fuel truck I painted with paint pens. Imagine they are about the same size? Think I am going to get the dump truck and concrete truck to start? Maybe a flatbed truck too. You have to cut them all off of the sprues? If you look at it closely it looks awful, from a normal viewing distance, like the thumbnail, it is fine!
Looks like my White fuel truck that I have on thingiverse? http://1fatgmc.com/RailRoad/3D-Printer/page-6.html If it is, it isn't in the same league as the Royale trucks. Get a couple and start painting them . Sumner
It's an unfinished project. Have to fix a mirror I broke and finish painting some of the details like marker lights and stuff. With that said, this is a great model and well worth it.
There's an International Harvester dealer in Renton, Wa near me-this reminds me of it! They sell mostly trucks, and some smaller equipment.
Nice model with the bin lifted to a point that always makes me laugh. I used to run the small machine shop at Cleanaway Equipment Services .... we made the hydraulic ram parts and other stuff. We built the first of this type of suburban garbage in Australia. It was a basic design but super reliable workhorse. It didn't have much in the way of electronics. The drivers figured out how get the truck to swallow a bin intentionally. Just let it get right to that point as in your picture then tap the control to lift the body. The body wouldn't lift suddenly but it would drain the hydraulic pressure from the grabs on the bin ......... it became loose and swoosh ,, in she would go never to be seen again !! LOL I believe this was done to people that would continually leave their bins in incredibly difficult spots or excessively overfilled bins. hehe.
I've seen it done here where if 'as usual' there was a car parked in the way, they would reach in close to the car and just tip it over.
Got a bunch just trying to find time to build them is all Great trucks and trailers from Royale be buying more including some customs
What type of glue is needed for the Royal Models? Have them bookmarked and will order a few in the future at some point. Been wanting a dump truck for awhile, and never thought about the garbage truck, but now I want one And a flat bed too!
