That little creek is so sweet looking it warrants it's own quote. I will read through the whole thread when I have more time!
I appreciate all the kind words. I just realized that when I changed servers this summer all the earlier picture links quit working. I just went back through the whole thread and reset the pic links. They all work now except the ones in the quotes, but I think the general idea is there. In updating the links, it was like a history tour. Man am I glad all that benchwork and framing and wallboard work is done. Scenery is what I enjoy and I still have plenty to do. I also reread all the really great comments over the last 2 years and I thank each of you for taking the time to do so. I will add some posts of the Ops Sessions. I spent months preparing for the first ones and now that we've been doing it for a year, it has settled down somewhat. KB
Wow - just saw this thread for the first time! Amazing work. And, that link about the grassinator, I'm going to give that a try
Was about to say Scenic Express has the deluxe model (nozzles and screens included) on sale for $130 but that sale is over, its $190 now. Still technically on sale but not as good a price.
Looks great! Are those trees SupreTrees/SuperSage? Lots of good branch detail in there. BTW, I am in the process of building the I-75 underpass on my layout inspired by your I-85 underpass near Lexington on your layout. Been referring to your website quite a bit as a reference. Jamie
Wow! I just spent the better part of the day reading through this entire thread! What an exceptional job you have been, and continue to do! 5 stars from me!
OK, I did the same. Started from the beginning. Marvelous. Kevin, you're a sick man. Beautiful work and lots of it!
Yep, lots and lots of Supertrees. They go a long way, though and I can just cut and plant...well except for picking out the tiny leaves. You got it all wrong, It's a sick world and I'm a happy guy. KB
Ok, just finished reading the whole thing. I want a barn/building someday long off in the future now! Also, the creek I quoted earlier is cool and all, but the Yadkin River bridge is gorgeous! 5 stars, theres jsut so many good build threads on this site!
Congratulations you have a five star rating. In honor of some real fine work. Well deserved. I really wish there was a better way to acknowledge and recognize our progressive threads. The work that modelers have done here and the time taken to share it with us can be substantial. Not to forget the How To department. Again, thanks for sharing your layout with us.
Thank you, Rick. Hope someone can benefit from some of the things I did. I sure learned everything I know from this and a couple of other websites. The Yadkin River bridge? Uh, about 2 weeks if I remember right. I had to scale the pieces off pictures I had taken. Once I got the first section going the rest was just a matter of cutting and glueing.
Got a good bit accomplished this week. I finished up the small "yard" I added on the HPT&D. It's for storage of the WSS/HPT&D turns. Found out as we had Ops sessions that there wasn't enough room. If you want to find the holes in your layout plan, just have a couple of Ops sessions. That'll do it. I also pulled out the turnouts on 2 back to back passing sidings making it 1 long one. Stupid idea from the beginning. While I was there, I finished some of the wooded area. I was cleaning up from the yard addition on the upper level and went ahead and added some scenery on the lower level below it.
18'x48'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I've died and gone to North Carolina. We should all be so lucky.... WOW, GREAT SPACE FOR A RAILROAD!
