Well, here we are on the last weekend of the year and the first weekend of the new. Happy New Year everyone. I am looking forward to all the goodies you folks come up with to help celebrate. This is a Kato RDC that I have had for a few years. It pulls yoeman duty lately going round and round under my little tree dedicated to all my train ornaments. It is very quiet and goes for hours. An old Rivarossi Pacific that I was also running did not do so well and toasted its motor. (I should have known it would). Anyway, before tucking it away until next year, I posed it for a roster shot. Edit: Hmmm. It appears that the front truck is derailed. Oh well.
I've got an old photo this week - from 2005, back when I had the date stamp set on my camera. This is a cloudy day up in the mountains - not much sunshine. George V.
MC Jujiwara, I like your industrial storage scene. It works for me. Candy Streeter, I admire your work. I especially like the way you did the sidewalk upon which the people are standing. Further back, in the shadows, you have dirt between the sidewalk and the building's foundation into which the downspout empties. Nice modelling. I note, too, the cement pads inside the fenced compound and the fence itself. You have a good eye. My own submission is called "Pennsy Varnish Over Seneca Gorge", showing a PRR T1 Duplex crossing the curved trestle at the maximum permissible speed....50 mph, having slowed from 79 mph.
Nice scene! There are a lot of added details. By clicking on the strip at the top if the photo you get an enlarged pictures. It really shows off the extra work here.
I love looking at everyone's work! Please you guys ! Post more !!!!!! Thank you Crandell and Flash !!!!....I do like creating scenes more then running trains but I do both...in my limited way. Prototype photo
I took a couple of pictures of a windbreak that I added behind a farmhouse... a small detail that only took a few minutes.
After fixing (again) my rail joint problem....I had the urge to goof off a little. So I thought I would setup a small strip of N scale track on the layout, and compare my N scale Atlas BN SD60M from the old N-scale layout attempts to one of my current HO scale Athearn Genesis BNSF (BN) SD60M locomotives that has a destined to call the attic layout home some day but for now will do cameo appearances on the Minnesota Commercial switching layout. Hey.....My SD60M had a baby!!
Another quick photo upload of a pair of BNSF GE C44-9W locos chaning over to the Minnesota Commerical Thru Track.
I'm a city girl and I didn't know what a windbreak was...but looking at your pictures it came to me......dumb girl.
Your just fishing for more praise.cute: Well you got it as you are far from a dumb, silly yes. Love your work Candy. Showing us how not to over think a scene to make it effective. Nice shoes.
Just finished up these rusty junkers this morning. They're going to be used in a 'U-Pick-n-Pull' antique auto parts junkyard toward the back of my layout.
This really looks good ! Can you...or do you have a few cars with the hood up so you can show motor details?
Just Love those junk yards! I have one area set aside for one on my layout. Jeff, where did you get the car castings from? Here are a few shots from Hawk Point.
