Just announced this morning is Scale Trains' first N scale locomotive offering, the GE Tier IV GEVO! It looks good and hopefully helps keep ScaleTrains dabbling in N scale for years to come!
Yes. Very exciting. Here's a pix of this soon-to-be released model taken by George of TroveStar N Scale Model Trains DB while visiting the ScaleTrains.com booth.
Don't own any scaletrains items, good stuff I assume by the previous posts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I own their 53' containers (they don't have much in N scale aside from the containers, and the Big Blow Turbine locos at the moment). Even though they're just hollow plastic blocks, they do have fine painting and detail. At least we know the ET44 is going to look good!
They need to take a closer look at the way grab irons are on locomotives... their grabs stick out way to far and need to be addressed. Even the turbines suffer from the same thing and it makes an other wise fine model look wrong... and that in a big way. The N scale crew members definitely don't need enough room to stick their durn heads through the grab. Address this and then maybe I would consider their models worth something...
I have one on reserve...are you saying I may never see it? Maybe I should move on. It looks exquisite, but that won't amount to much if it never arrives.
Did you reserve the BLI or the ScaleTrains unit? I'm sure I'll see a ST unit before I see the BLI units.
Right now I'm thinking two UP and two in BNSF. The first one I rode in was an NS, so I may try and squeeze one of those in, too. I'm happy with my ScaleTrains turbine, and I'm confidant their GEVOs will run just as well.
I saw these at the N scale convention and they do look good. According to Mark, each road name has unit specific details, but they will also be available in DCC only or DCC + Sound. Not sure why everyone is so down on the Carbon Black Covered Hoppers? They looked pretty good to me, plus I remember seeing the Sid Richardson cars all the time in my area. I'll probably be adding a few Sid Richardson cars to my fleet. We'll have to see of the ETA still stands at November of this year?
