The Santa fe passenger diesels 1 Spot and 1A booster are available as 3D prints from ATSF N Scale Models and directly from Shapeways. Go to the website WWW.ATSFNSCALEMODELS.COM for details on history, building instructions and ordering options. These shells are designed to ride on a modified (shortened) KATO E8/9 chassis. Also available are 3D prints of the truck sideframes. The models can be operated on DC, DCC and DCC/sound, using the decoder of your choice.
Do you really think so? I don't. They're too accurate to look good. Historic the One Spot Twins were. But they were born homely and later made downright ugly.
They might be ugly ducklings but those models sure are fantastic. One down two more to go (2611 and Amos and Andy).
They're good. Why stop there? If we're going to be demanding, how about the cab unit numbered ten? Then we can have the five axle 1B-B cab, numbered both 1 and 10.
Thanks for the replies! 2611 is almost ready to be posted also...... Amos and Andy will take some time..... other things first. Did not have the 5 axle 10 spot in mind yet but I might... While typing this message I thought of an easy solution for the drive problem. If that works I will give it a try. Are you going to order them if I make them?
Be nice to see this in Z-scale as well-AZL came out with a complete Super Chief recently, plus other Santa Fe passenger cars.
