Started construction of the upstairs interior on the Saloon. All made out of matte board. The doors are not 3 dimensional, but have the relief painted on. The floor and inner walls are removable downward so I can glue the roof in place and still be able to service the interior. With some 3D printed furniture and nice lighting, it will look quite convincing.
Progressed a little bit on the construction. Everything is built so the upper part of the building is relatively easy to disassemble from the main building, the upper floor and the Saloon interior needs to have easy access to the lighting. I had to change the construction of the porch roof a bit to make it more durable. Here the upper floor is lifted off. The upper interior can also be lifted out to access the saloon interior. It took a few adjustments to make every connection tight, but not too good ....
I've applied the tar paper roofing. I used surgical tape that I painted rust red. I also weathered the corrugated metal wall. The next step is to add the roof cap and tar seals and to build the various chimneys and pipes and then weather the roof.
The preliminary drawings of the mine that I will build in O scale. I will measure the space available and make alterations where needed. The winch house drawings. Now I'll have to buy a LOT of wood!

As part of the history search for my railroad, I learned that historian and archaeologist Dr. Henry Jones Jr. had a copy of the Drumhead logo for my railroad: the San Miguel Central. Luckily, I was able to exchange a copy in exchange for information on where to find a "safe warehouse" in the US, guarded by "top men"...
Getting there.... Still have to glass the upstairs windows, add furniture and lights, rafter ends and final weathering....
Thanks! This is the finished model of the plastic kit I built. The San Miguel Herald (or SMH for short, as the content always make you shake your head...). I´m quite satisfied with the guy with the block and tackle. The old man proof reading todays edition.... The chimney that I made from a balsa core covered with cardboard bricks. Theres only the lighting left to do, but that´s for a later day...
Looks great in colour and in black and white, also really like the moody sky. I don't say much but enjoy following along -Cody
Painted a horse and rider in O scale. I used to avoid painting horses when I was in H0, but now it's real fun.
