Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week and are ready to get some work done on your railroads. Let's get started.

Friday: Weird day as I am working but not at the office. We have the Athearn booth set up at the annual Horizon Hobby open house they call RC Fest. It's an outdoor show since it is mainly RC planes and cars, but I'll be inside the hangar with the booth and the small switching layout. Long shift, 8:00am to 9:00pm. As has been the case all spring, the high today will be 60 with 90% rain scheduled all day, so it may not be a busy day.

Saturday: Second day of the event and the weather is supposed to be nice. Still a long day however with it ending at dark with fireworks and a model air show.

Sunday: If I'm not exhausted from the previous two days, I plan to lay track on the NTrak module. All the wire, color coded Anderson Power poles and accessories came in Wednesday so I'm hoping for a peaceful day with getting the three main lines laid, feeders soldered, and bus lines completed. I'll also finish sand my fascia, stain and poly that. I hope to get to the point of painting and ballasting track. Of course, the lawn is a jungle again due to the overly wet spring we have had, so that will need attention. Maybe some grilling too, we'll see.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 12th to see how we did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

I anticipate a beautiful weekend and as such nothing modeling wise.
I am hoping that the ensuing week will contain a great deal of sorting and preparing for moving in the next year. That will be an ongoing project.

    Happy Friday - Y'all

I will be putting the finishing touches on my movie tribute tank truck - and, photos will follow.

Then I will decide what project will follow. I'm thinking perhaps Cotton Belt's PA's --

    Y'all have a great weekend,
    Wolf

The 1:1 fence scratchbuilding project will continue. I have the second long side of the yard to start, which means tackling some of the brush issues between my property and my neighbors. Then establishing my string line, setting poles etc. There are also some kid activities to wrangle in there. SO maybe trains, maybe not.

I will sum up the weekend with recovery, still out of sorts with the surgery although I feel good but no ambition for modeling or little else at this time.

Since I got home I attached one airline from the ABD Valve to the Air Reservoir, bu I am going to try and finish the rest of the underframe detailing over the weekend. I also have a few cars to decal that I got painted before the surgery, we will see how that goes. After that will find a new car kit or two to build or modify.

I was also going to have one of those 1:1 fence projects but my wife convinced me that I am getting too old for that so I am hiring a contractor. So more time for trains !

During the week, I removed the layout's tempoary turn around loop so I could set the 8 foot Carlin section on the brackets where it will eventually be. With the small details such as the crossing signals beginning to appear I felt this was the only safe way to store it. Then I got the smaller 3-/12 foot section out and set about working on it.

This weekend I will be laying the track on the SP line and installing a bridge. Also ballasting track on both lines and building up the mountains. It's going to be hot here so that may limit my time in the train room. It may also prompt me to order a portable A/C unit that I've had my eye on.

Just finished power to a new section/module on the layout. Going to stay in, hide from the 105-degree heat here in S. Texas, and build up the scenery (currrent state below). Have a good one all! IMG_2029 (2).JPG

Yes. Friday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

This weekend I will be working on the layout and probably some in the workshop. Honestly, other than modeling, I have no clue what tasks I'll focus on. As most here know, with an active layout, no matter the size, the different things to do or can be done are pleasantly and seemingly "infinite". So once again, I think wandering around the layout at 7:00 AM or whatever w/ my first cup of coffee will dictate where we go this weekend.

Also, the Mrs and I scored some fresh seafood yesterday at the NC Farmers Market and immediately tossed it in the freezer. I do see some grilling in my future over the weekend.

Nothing directly railroad wise. Next thing today is go and see if I can get my illegal 50cc scooter running. I forgot to take the battery there yesterday.

Yes! 8:00 A.M.to 9:00 P.M. is a long day. Two days to boot! I see rest in your future. Yeah, pretty weather.... Fence building? @dti406, slow and steady wins the race. It's cool. @nscalestation, wife says get don't build yourself. I says, keep the wife. @rjthomas909, thanks for reminding me...how cool Frisco looks. Other cool stuff here. (Always take the gas can to get the illegal scooter going.) Me, I rest from fishing yesterday. Before that, I redid the auto wheels that I did not like before. If I stay in, it will be building the body after mounting the wheels. All be safe and be fun. :D

Have not decided what I will do. Probably continue scanning some of my BN slides. Several car kit projects waiting, or in progress on my work bench. I may pick up on one of those, or do more work on one of my T-Trak modules. Kinda nice to have so much to choose from!

I took the gas can but forgot the more important thing. The battery.
It's leaking oil and won't start. I don't know two cycles so it's time to find a way to get it to a dealer I guess.

Mrs. Moose finally retired from the whole work / school / internship activities as of yesterday, and, as bizarre as this may seem, she has decided to spend all her time from now on with Moose. Yeah! :)

Moose wonder how long that will last... :cautious:

Any way, weekend plans (subject to utter failure):

Friday: Hobby day! Moose will try to finish painting passenger depot and at least one brewery building.

Saturday: Some shopping with Mrs. Moose :) ... and then some yard work. :(

Sunday: Yard work ... Again.

Monday: Perhaps a nice mountain hike with Mrs. Moose! :)

Not sure what is on the docket, but definitely some automotive events. I may visit Cars & Coffee on Saturday morning if I wake up early. We also have a neighborhood car show on Sunday and I'll bring my VW GTI. The 24 Hours of Le Mans begins Saturday morning, which I may watch some of on TV throughout the day. If I do anything with the N Scale, it'll be to start thinking about scenery.

Modeling probably isn't going to happen this weekend either. We returned from Texas late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. But I was up less than four hours later and driving to Akron for our church's Annual Conference. So, I'm in conference sessions from 9:00 am to 5:00 or 6:00 pm Wednesday through Saturday, then church and train club on Sunday.

Once again my little train room looks like a thermonuclear device detonated. How does that happen in five days??

Saturday morning will be straightening up and cleaning off my workbench.
I told my wife I will helper a little with yard work trimming brush with clippers since I'm not cleared to use any larger hand or power tools.

On the layout I'm going to work on the sidewalk/base for the business district and finalize road elevation to an as yet to be determined spur served industry.

I'm leaning on kit mingling a Kibri Factory Complex Set 7328 with a Walthers gas storage tank kit to make a simplified coal gas manufacturing plant.

I’m in Denver for the next couple of weeks, so no modeling for a bit. I’d like to find my way to a few hobby shops and railroad museums in Denver or Colorado Springs if I can. Any recommendations on any on LHS or museums are welcome. The last time I was in Denver was over three years ago and we’ll before I’d gotten back into the hobby.

I Googled Hobby Shops Colorado Springs and came up with 5 in the area. Of course I would make sure they are actually there by calling them :) Surely there are more near Denver? Also Googled the Denver area. Of course some may not have N Scale stuff? Or even still be in business?

That Colorado Space & Air thing might be interesting. If you like that stuff and it is Public?

Have fun looking for Hobby Shops in that area, and spending ALL your money :)

Continuing work on the Eads diorama and I cleaned the room yesterday in the early morning hours, 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. I don't even recognized the room anymore :) I think someone else took over my body temporarily. That hardly ever happens :)

    Wow, I deserve a treat :)

Gee whiz, I actually did something this weekend. I painted the Design Preservation Models Hilltowne Hotel kit with Humbrol Desert Tan" spray paint. Came out nice!

    Hmm... I slept in this
    morning...
