Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend! It looks like we are all busy with both train and holiday preparations and even a semester! I don't know about you, but it sure has been a long week for me. Let's see what we have planned for this weekend. Saturday: Likely not a busy train weekend for me as I need to take Ang's car up north to her dads again and see if a wheel bearing that was replaced two years ago is about to give up. The biggest pain on working on her car is the hour and a half ride one way to her dad's shop. If Illinois wasn't such a basket case, we would buy a house closer to her dad. As it is, the repair could take an hour or all day, so I don't plan on getting anything done Saturday. Sunday: Well, the car theme continues. I have been looking for a 1960 - 1965 Ford Falcon with a straight six for a little over two years. I finally found one that looks like it could be the one. Problem is, it is three hours away in Indiana, but it looks too good to pass up. Angela's dad, Angela and I are going to see if it is everything I'm looking for. I have an offer on Jess my railfan Jeep and though I don't want to get rid of it, the wife says one of my vehicles needs to go. So, if this car is what I'm looking for, I'll likely be picking that car up and selling the Jeep. I don't railfan as much as I used to, and I can still railfan in a 1965 Falcon. Any time left over will be used to get Christmas decorations up which we are severely behind on. So how about you? What do you have planned over the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 12 to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
Happy Friday all. This weekend I may have some time for modeling Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow is the annual family reunion, Christmas gathering at our house. So today will be consumed with final preparations for that affair. Tomorrow I may run some trains. People usually want to wander in the train room and see some run. Have a great and peaceful weekend all.
Happy Friday - Y'all, I think, I will be able to work on my layout. (It's been a very long time) - I have some turnouts that are in need of some serious TLC. And, I will dabble with my loco project. Some fine tuning of details. Then hopefully the first color. Y'all have a great and safe weekend, Wolf
Happy Friday Everyone! Well, somehow I doubt I am gonna get much done on the digital SLRG project. I am working on a database rollout for work, and thats gonna have me doing a lot of development and data entry etc. I really enjoy this stuff, but it tends to eat into my available time. Thats gonna account for the bulk of my available time this weekend. Have a great day everyone!
Like Jim said, it sure feels like it's been a long week. I missed a great opportunity to do some painting yesterday afternoon as I got stuck at work late. It was a beautiful 78 degree winter day here in Georgia. Today is wet but maybe there will be a break in it when I get home and I can get a base coat of paint on some 3d print tractors. If so, finishing those up will be my weekend project. If not, I'll find something to fiddle with. Also have Christmas decorations to finish up and maybe even a little Christmas shopping. Hope you all have a great weekend!
This weekend will be much the same as last weekend, getting ready for the club layout being open over the weekend and bowling on Friday night. Saturday will be at the club which will be open to visitors as the Historical Society building where the layout is, is open to the public and as part of our rent we need to be open also. After the open house we will have our Christmas dinner outing with family members and the annual gift exchange which is a lot of fun. Sunday, open house again and maybe in the evening I will get some decaling done on cars I got painted during the week. Rick Jesionowski
Good morning all, My model railroading goals this weekend are to finish the pair of staging spur tracks on the east end loop. Then get the basic track wiring done and try a test run over the entire layout. Need to do lots of cleaning up before the test run. Wishing you all a fun weekend whatever you are doing.
It's "Crunch Time." This weekend is dedicated to finishing my research paper that is due at noon on Monday. I started the actual writing part yesterday and I'm seven pages into what will likely be about 20 pages long (before charts or photographs). Sometime today I have to return a book to the university library. Sunday morning is church. Sunday afternoon is an open house at the new home of one of our church members. Other than that, I have zero plans.
A straight six Falcon. Keeping my fingers crossed. (ps, always listen to your wife.) Gotta' love a family reunion. First color. Cool! Data entry... Time to get those tractors painted up. Open House = Big Event. Testing is always a good idea. Maybe Captain Crunch cereal will help. This past week saw the installation of the paddock fence. The fence had to be finished with a small section of the original “Nastee Fence®”. This was due to damaging the next phase of fencing known as “Nastee Junior”. If I do anymore fence, I will go back to the drawing board first. Next will be livestock making. We will see how that goes. Everyone have a great, safe and fun weekend.
Don't remember the last time I had some modeling plans for a weekend. Not going to look in the archives either. In any case, I have modeling related plans for this weekend. Friday: Happy Birthday to me! Sixty-seventh anniversary of my birth. Per family tradition, I get to pick how to spend the day. My son is coming over to help me install exhausts for the laser engraver and paint booth in our garage. Being a rental house, we need to be creative. Success will mean I can work on some long-stalled modeling projects. Will be time to walk to town for lunch and then later tonight we will get some BBQ. Saturday: Time to fetch and setup our Christmas tree. Probably grab lunch out and do a little shopping as well. Sunday: Open schedule. Most likely complete the unfinished loose ends from the other projects. See you on Monday. Stay safe,
Try to find some time to fix my WS traffic lights, but it is doubtful. Been raining here for a week, it's like I live in London or Seattle instead of the South. Need to try and put a few Christmas lights outside. That is also doubtful. So might not accomplish anything, but that is normal
Probably will be working Sunday again. So any modeling time is doubtful once again. This should be my last for the season. YAY!!! Meanwhile, been suffering through a ansty head cold. Sneezing more than I can recall in many a year. Has backed up into sinuses and one (ouch!) ear. Not much fun with long work days. Bleh. All that I managed this week is to send of an inquiry to the manufacturer of my engine house laser kit. Wondering about a custom part. Hoping for a response early next week.
