I’ve got a Kato F7 that came in DC/ DCC compatible when I bought it new. I replaced the DC board with a WVD DCC board and an ESU Lok Sound (58820) decoder. I removed the original headlight from the DC board and soldered it to the new WVD board. The headlight stayed on for about two laps then hasn’t worked since. Any ideas why? Oh and yes the headlight button was pushed on the controller. 28338840-9C00-4E4A-BF45-B3B81F447395.jpeg

    Did it require a resistor?

Edit: Nope. It doesn't. From Yankee Dabbler: The WVD LokSound 5 Micro Adapter includes built-in current-limiting resistors for running LEDs directly wired to the board/decoder for up to nine function outputs controlled by the decoder.

With the LED connected to the decoder board, I don't think you need that component that is across the leads. On the DC model it was placed there to suppress the flickering that would occur when in reverse.

I wonder if the LED shorted out on the metal. Maybe should have put Kapton tape to shield it.
