I have a Digitrax DN136D installed in an Atlas S2 (yellow box). Everything is fine except the loco wont get up to speed. I see an option in DecoderPro to set the speed to 'switcher'. I don't have this ticked but it seems as if that's how it's operating. Any advice would be appreciated/
I've tried resetting the decoder and there was no change. If I recall the loco ran fine pre and post install. I’m thinking I have touched something I shouldn’t have.
CV5 controls the top speed of your loco. Like wvgca set to a higher number than 0. Try 255, which is the highest speed capable, to see if that makes a difference. If that increases the speed, then you know you're on the right track, pun intended. After that, you can set CV5 to whatever you want for your maximum speed.
Set CV5 to 200 and it made no difference. I checked a good running loco and it’s CV5 is set to 0. I’m going to print out my CV list for the two of them and compare.
you should set 3,4 and 5 the same on both locos as a starting point ..also make sure you don't select speed table just in case
Nothing I'm trying is causing any change. Maybe the decoder has an issue. I have a few more locos to install decoders in so I'll pick up another and see how it goes.
Just an thought: Is the decoder unlocked? I believe cv15 and cv16 have to be set to 0, just looked in the manual. I learned this the hard way many years ago.
No. I kept chasing my tail. I bought another decoder, Digitrax DZ126. I'll install it in the same loco and see if the issue is resolved. I'll report back and thanks for taking an interest.
