Does anyone have recommendations on decals or signs (photo etch?) that are correct for the jeweled sign in this 1972 Bob Jordan image? https://flic.kr/p/T9tJic

Agree with NtheBasemen...just print it on something fairly stiff. The jewels won't ever really be seen when they are that small.

Did not expect the image to be that big...

I like that idea, will have to play around with it. Also need the lower sign too.

Maybe you could print it out on some gray cardstock, then cut out with an Xacto knife, glue to some brass rod.

My dad had the remains of one of these signs, just the "RAIL __ ROAD" part, in his garage. (Don't ask.)

As I recall, even at 1:1 size, the reflectors aren't that big. Certainly less than an actual inch across.

The glass was nicknamed "cat's eyes", so maybe you can find a bunch of dead N Scale cats and get what you need...

Print to cardstock. Use a pin to make pinholes at every jewel. Glue aluminum foil (shiny side up) to back of sign. When light hits the reflective silver, you'll have the desired effect.
