We have a busy Saturday coming up with football. My son and The Drexel Hill Raiders Pee Wee AAA and AA teams have games against the Claymont Falcons in Claymont, DE. We have the AAA at 10 AM and then the AA at 11 AM, and my daughter cheers at 2:30 PM. I have a few little jobs around the house like patching some ceiling cracks in anticipation of painting the kitchen ceiling. I am not sure what else is on the Honey-do list.

I finished weathering three locomotives last night so I plan on sealing them over the weekend. I have some cleaning of the work bench and layout to do. I could not find a few things last night so that means it is time to rearrange the piles. After that I am not sure what I will work on. I have the two RSD-4/5 locos and two sets of FA1/FB2 locos to weather or I could start building some gondola kits.

More work on my C&C Dog Treat factory.

    More decalling

and there are a few more billboards I have that I want to build.

Aside from watching college football this weekend and cutting the lawn, the rest will be dedicated to modeling and layout work.

    My kinda weekend.

Energized by last week's Digitrax purchase, I've been cleaning out more of the train room and plan to continue with a major cleaning effort tomorrow. It's kind of hard to work on the layout when the "convenient flat surface" is covered with all of our tools, materials and unbuilt train show purchases. [IMG]

Additionally, the SCWD is hosting a diorama building competition this year (prizes are $100, $50 and $25 at the LHS for the top three vote-getters in a popular vote contest in April), so I hope to get started on that project as well. My diorama will be a scene from the loading shed of a Weyerhauser lumber mill that was pictured in NG&SL Gazette a year or so ago.

I plan on installing a couple more tortoise switch machines and start installing the plates to mount my toggle switches and LED's for the turnouts. I figure once I get the first 6 completed I can run the first trains on the main line!

Need to do a bit of cleanup in the train room, it's a regular construction zone in there....

Also need to install the trim and molding in our bathroom and start painting it.

I'm starting another lasercut building kit and plan to put the finishing touches on the ballasting in between the ties of the Unitrack on the mainline of the Unitrack on the JJJ&E which is about 125' long. It's taken me over one month to complete this ballasting project.

Stay cool and run steam...... [IMG]

I've installed guard timbers at my curved threstle. Now I've to ballast the track and install the guard rails. Then comes the scenery.

I'm almost done with all my finals. I have some time to play on my own. I am hoping to refine the cork work I did and begin laying the mainline on Saturday. If I can get an oval of track down, that would be great. It would allow me to begin running loopty loops. YAY!

I'lll try out my new Optivisor on laying track. My aging eyes don't do so well in N scale anymore. I got into N thanks to my wife Pat, who gave me an N set for our anniversary. Now the plan is done, the base of the layout is finished and I have a small portion of track laid. Its been difficult putting sections of track (no, the layout is not all sectional) together; I just can't see the joiners and track ends at times. I'll be glad when this is done; then I'll run trains for a few days and then start scenery. This is a small Midwest shortline with an agriculture theme.

I need to get a hold of a drill to make drops and start wiring up the layout.

    Work tomorrow...who knows about Sunday.

Not sure what the weekend will bring. I'd like to finish my small cutter. I just stole a few minutes to touch up the paint, and think I'll let it dry for a while. Then, after antennae and railings, I think I'll work on the other ships a little. They've been pretty battered the last year or so, and the level of detail isn't up to my new standards.

As always, I'm looking for the 5:15 PM emails assigning me some tasks for the weekend.

    Will buy wood sealer
    Take rest of layout down
maybe by Monday night i'll have
    The wood sealed,
    temp background in place,
    foam ready for cookie cutter
    Track in place

Recent hold ups have been helping my mother and dating.
Part of me is tempted to put the GandG on hold and do a door sized layout just to get trains running. New girlfriend has an large SUV. hmmmm. hmm...

Well, I'm still in the planning stages with my RR... so I'll be working on the track-plan a bit, and possibly building some rolling-stock. [IMG]

Still working on the F7B, never got to posting on the Monday post but last weekend got the ends all milled out for the details, it does look nice with them on. Still have to remove the old backup light details, coupler area details and drill for the grab irons, hopefuuly get that done this weekend and be ready to paint soon.

Trains will be run, alot of new acquisitions to test out!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!- [IMG]

Paper mill is done (HOO-RAY!), now time to lay more track. I may re-arrange the buildings to get what I want (R&D yard, spurs for pulpwood, kaolin, TiO2, loading spur for paper, etc), but I've plenty of C55 to do the job- it's going on Woodland Scenics foam roadbed.

Will also need a track for the plant switcher to sit while not in use.....

And oh yes, paint a coat of black on my LL P2K GP7 shell- after it dries, apply Frisco lettering & "cat-whisker" striping (or maybe the simplified version circa 1959...)
