I was set to repaint some AHM dome cars for the dome cars run on N&W. These are the cars that were obtained from Union Pacific. I need to know if they were kept in the armor yellow, painted the N&W blue or N&W Maroon. I was referred to the N&W color guide to freight and passenger equipment. It had pics of a corrugated dome in silver and the blue, no pics of the smoothside domes. Ah yes, more projects. Anyhow, can anyone help me with the color scheme? The cars are mentioned in Carstens Passenger Cars Vol.2 p.142. Thanks in advance.

Not sure I can be a lot of help, but while working for Santa Fe in Topeka in 1966, I was sent to ST Louis to an IBM school. We took the City of St Louis out of Topeka, and I remember that the sleepers were all in yellow, but some were lettered WABASH, which became NW, and there were head end cars and coaches were in WABASH blue.

The Wabash dome 203 was built for the City of St Louis. It remained in UP colors until the joint operation of the train ended, with Wabash replaced by Norfolk & Western on the name board.

see below for BW photo of car (now N&W 1613) in UP colors

It was later painted blue with silver roof. It was in this scheme when sold to CofG in 1970. See Morning Sun book Norfolk & WWestern Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment.
