I can't help myself, I've got to add another of my pics. From a time gone by, steam passes through Red Rock Canyon.
Good pics John, I'm hoping to take some morepics from different angles of my layout over the next few days
I like this picture that I took. and this one and I like this one because it is a view I never get to see.
A DRGW GP40 roars out of Tunnel 5 on our Rock Springs layout... Coaltrain: Love the shot of the diesel being serviced! Very nice.
Martyn, great job on the slide fence. It looks like many locations in the Feather River canyon and on the former Rio Grand in Colorado. All those wires form one continous circuit so any break puts the signals to stop.
Martyn, That is definatley a very realistic looking shot. I guess the slide fence would have also caused some reliability issues with breaks etc but it obviously was a necessity to protect against rock slides.
With the recent growth of new vegatation (clumpfoliage from Woodland Scenic, assisted by my 3 yr old landscaper) I was able to capture this image of two thuroghbreads racing through Red Rock Canyon.
John, Nice shot, i recently had two fellow modellers (Jason from TB) visit my layout and they were suprised that my layout looked different to the photos i had posted. It goes to show how good camera angles can make your layout look even larger than in real life. Here are a couple more pics.
I think I can finally access (with a little help from others on the Board) my present favorite picture -- actually taken several years ago... Hope the link works (I have a Mac, and things don't work the way they "say" it should for linking pictures here)
I suppose these seasonal shot are two of the more appropriate ones I've took - CSX storming through the 'English'(!!?) countryside. Jon
For the guys that do winter scenes. I presume you don't leave them that way year round. Right? If not, how do you pick up all the snow?
Nope, Layout is permanently 'Snowy'. Heres a couple of shots of it 'on tour' in England, just before Christmas. And here's a shot of some of the scenic boards definately 'not' in the horisontal position. Jon
Very nice indeed! Looks like a picture postcard. The scenery looks like it could be England or New England. Russ
Pretty cool!!! [No pun intended] Living in Texas, I wouldn't even know where to start when it comes to modeling snow.
