How to build a crossing. I prefer soldering crossings and turnouts. My last crossing I've built at my Harbor District: Currently there're two crossings in work. One at the interchange track at Plywood District. This is a dummy crossing. topic tie template There I got the link to Fast Tracks Now, I'm building the next crossing though I use the new Peco code 83 turnouts. Plywood District is a busy and prospering industrial district. Still, a few sites are still available. This is the first step. I cut a tie template to suit and glued it in place. It's a tight place! Next step, glueing ties! I've made the ties from PC board. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, that is the method I used to build my crossing, but it is a much less acute angle. Yours looks rather neater than mine, though
Wow! Is it a double crossover? What is the centerline track spacing (if a double crossover)? Indeed...
Next step, soldering the first rails: At this time, you can test run a few cars. If they don't derail, you can go on. Another view. The sharp bend has to reworked. And a close up view: Wolfgang
