Hi Guys. Does anyone know of available "HO" scale model railroad decals for the Farmrail locos please? I cant find anything on any of the major decal mfg websites. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Check out Oddballs Decals- they have a lot of decals for railroads in the midwest, including shortlines like Farmrail and Kiamichi. Not sure of the URL, but a Google search will turn it up.
I know it's an old post, but.... I have some of the Odd Ball decals for Farmrail. I am in the process of duplicating them and adding the current engine "Names".
Hi Guy's. Sorry this post is so late. I've just recently started a project to build my 1st Farmrail GP9, using a P2k phase3 GP9, as loco #297. As i live in Australia i'm still a bit unsure how i'll buy decals from you guy's. I can send an "International Money Order" (Preferance #1), or bank deposit if anyone can accept this type of payment. Not sure how many loco's i'll build, but if anyone can help me purchase these decals, please let me know. I don't see any Farmrail decals on oddballs site. Any further info much appreciated. Thankyou. Regards. Pete HANN. Bordertown, South Australia.
I believe that I may own the last four that are available. I searched for a year and only found these four. I sent one copy to a friend of mine who is a graphic artist. He is in the process of making a high resolution scan. From there I plan on having more copies printed with the updated engine names and numbers. It is a process that will take a little time but it will be completed. I'll keep you posted. Edit: I did contact OddBall a few months ago about another run of these decals and he said absolutely no.
farmrail decals I would like to know how to get a hold of some decals as well for those farmrail locos and ect.. I'm TDY in Altus AFB, OK and rode the train last weekend and would like to model the train if possible in HO Scale. Thanks, Steve BTW< I attached the most recent pics of the loco and the passenger cars on here.
Welcome to Altus! You're about 40 miles south of where I grew up. I'll post here on this thread once I'm able to have these decals reproduced. I'll check and see how soon until the scans are ready.
Welcome to Trainboard! There is a fellow by the name of Ron Duke who is quite knowledgeable about the railroad scene in Altus (Farmrail/Grainbelt, WT&J, Stillwater Central, BNSF), and posts quite frequently on Railspot. If you can contact this fellow (sorry, don't have a phone number), he could really inform you Macjet, that's bad that Tom won't be making FMRC decals again, but good that you are willing to. That line used to have two hi-nose ex-FEC GP7s (617, Kiowa, and 620, Caddo), that later went to Kiamichi RR in 1988. Will you be making them for just HO, or (hopefully) for N scale as well?
I spoke with my buddy making the scan of these decals. This project is underway and will be seen through to print. However, it is going to take some time. My best guess right now is first quarter of 2009. I plan to add the newer engine names. I plan to include the old and new style road numbers. I do plan a batch of N scale. I the mean time try Highball Graphics and their run of Farmrail PS2 covered hopper decals.
I have started on doing Farmrail myself Here is the latest photos I have taken so far. I am making the decals for the coach and the caboose as we speak. If anyone needs farmrail decals our family runs a sign business and make all sorts of neat stuff for much less than regular decal makers, and the shop's owner is a current railroad conductor, so if you need technical consults on signage we can do it. And it is all 100% American made in Alaska.
