    Hey Group -
I have to post this to the public:
Last weekend I took my 77yo mother on her first overnight trip on an Amtrak train. We flew to Chicago and caught the Lake Shore to NYP where we spent a full day. We then caught the Acela Express and rode to BWI and flew back home.

We had probably one of the best trips we have ever had. Our car attendant Richard was super, not only nice but helpful. As well as the dining car crew. We arrived into NYP at about 10 min late. After we left Utica, they started making announcements that the train was sold out. We caught the Acela Express the next afternoon, which is a trip in itself. We were right on the advertised all the way, and it also was completly sold out.

Hey Ron, thanks for the heads-up on that trip. It sounds like an ideal way to travel in style. Hope your Mom really enjoyed it. What were some of her comments?
Did you get any pictures? Hope so. Also hope you'll post them here for all of us "stay at home" types to enjoy. The LSL is my favorite way to travel. Hope to be able to ride it again soon.

Well...her first comment was, when are we going to go back and can we ride a different train next time. My favorite was about 2:00 in the morning with "Ron wake up....look out the window at the snow in the moonlight" or " are those cars stopped or are we flying by"

I have a lot of pictures...but dont know how to post them.

    Ron
