Group - This Saturday, the Heartland Flyer will be celebrating it's 4th anniversary. There will be a celebration in Ardmore, Oklahoma kicked off with the ribbon cutting of the restored Santa Fe/Rock Island Depot. If anyone is in the area, please stop by. I'll be manning an Amtrak information table, so be sure to say Hi. Ron Herendeen webmaster www.heartlandflyer.com
Ron, Congrats on the Anniversary! I will be tromping around the Powder River Basin huntin' coal trains this weekend but hopefully I'll make it next year for the 5th. I'm still trying to get the opportunity to ride...I'm looking at those wine tasters pretty seriously....I think the wife would go for that. It'd be nice if the schedule worked out to catch a baseball game but I couldn't seem to find a way to make it work. Well, hope ya'll have a good turnout and a great time!
First, we have a lot of cool things going on with the Heartland Flyer. As you know, we have a wine tasting on board the 1st Saturday of each month. On the Third Saturday. the NPS Trails & Rails program. On July 4th, Uncle Sam will be riding to Fort Worth and passing out flags, and on July 26th, we have a drama team riding and they will be doing a Whodunit Murder Mystery. Perhaps this is why it is was the top train in Customer Satisfaction? Ron
