Andy!!, you know my story well, you don't need the book,LOL! ;) :D **Kiriakos, thanks for the nice comments. sorry, others have also asked for a layout plan for the HO switching layout i have, i have RTS, but cant duplicate my plan with it. to be honest with you, i just built the table work, and laid the track on it till i liked it. the best i can do for a track plan is to have you go back to page two of this thread. on page two, i have a "sky view" pic of most of the layout, and two side views. the switching layout is 2'x10' with a 2'x2' extension at one end, to make an L shape. all 13 switches are shown in the "sky view" pic. it is DCC(Prodigy) and 2 engines can work the layout easily at the same time. i use car cards, and the track plan is VERY operational. thanks, -Deano

well, the last two weekends haven't brought much visual differences to the current layout i am working on, but milestones have been made in wiring. as i have mentioned, i am doing this layout in DC and DCC, so i can run either or.(but not at the same time.LOL! ;) ) last weekend i finished up the DC wiring, and this weekend i got 80% of the DCC wiring done. tested both this weekend, and it was 100% SUCCESS! :D here are a couple pics of my current progress. if you look at the last post i posted pics in, on the second pic from the bottom you will notice an N scale engine yard, in the third pic down i put in THIS post, you will see its now gone as i built it up to the second level for the HO industries. :D thanks, -Deano [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] *********this last progress pic is testing the NEW DCC out on a 3 HO engine lashup, SUCCESS! :D [IMG]

THANKS Andy!, I'll let dad know. here's a pic of dad testing out the new Prodigy Advance. we use Prodigy on the switching layout, and Dad loves it, but was kinda ticked off with the Prodigy Advance in this pick. PA, is new to us and we don't fully understand it yet. i felt bad for him because my engines with QSI,Soundtraxx,Loksound, and even my cheapo Bachmann decoder worked fine, NO problems :D ...Dad has just 2 DCC engines, one with an Atlas decoder, and one with a Digitrax decoder,...we couldn't get either one of his to run right. :( we don't fully understand what to put in for start volt, start dec, top volt, etc. oh well, it was the first time using it, well get it sooner or later. ;) ANYWAYS...heres a pic of Dad(a little ticked off) running my Athearn F7 CNW shell, on a cheapo Bachmann frame and decoder. -Deano [IMG]

THANK YOU very much loco1999! :D my plan is to finish the HO up, then redo/repair the N scale on the bottom part of the layout. the way things have been going lately, this will be a long process. :( i would like to have it completed by mid-summer, but i am thinking thats wishful thinking. we'll see what happens. ;) thanks, -Deano

HAPPY belated B-DAY loco1999!! :D GLAD to hear you got an SD40! :D i have an Athearn SD40-2 snoot nose(see my sig.), i put a Soundtraxx decoder in it, and like all my engines, have detailed it up a little. it's by far NOT one of the most impressive engines i have, but for some odd reason, it's one of my favorites. i guess theres just something about those SD40's.... ;) i hope you have MANY enjoyable runs with yours! :D -Dean
