We see pictures of motive power, but how about the 'forgotten' other end. Here is a caboose shot for you.
Roger, Nice shot! Thanks for sharing with us. Since I am a little "history challenged" regarding CR, can you tell me the origin of this caboose? Harold
It is one of the only series that Conrail built. All of the others Conrail inherited. From the Conrail Caboose website at: http://CRCaboose.railfan.net/ 113 cars 21201-21313 bought new by Conrail in 1978. Only cabooses bought new by Conrail, welded small bay window design built by Fruit Growers Express in Alexandria, VA. Cars have a rigid underframe, axle-mounted generator and oil heat.
Thanks for the caboose pic, Roger. What location was this pic taken? Also what number on the caboose, I can't quite make it out. I might want to add this one to my caboose roster on my N scale layout. Thanks.
The first photo was taken June 3, 1996 at the 31st street crossing in Anderson IN as it was returning to South Anderson Yard. The side and end views were taken in South Anderson Yard on April 14, 1996 in Anderson Indiana The car number is 21295.
