Just got back from another railfan trip to the usual haunts in Pennsylvania.
My son was off school Friday so we drove to Cumberland, MD to ride the Western Maryland Scenic Railway's 2-8-0. We then spent the night in Altoona and did Horseshoe Curve, Galitzen and Cresson befor heading home this afternoon. Among the photos in the album are a CSX stack train diverted to NS ironically because of a derailment that is 3 miles from my house. Then there is the train entering Galitzen tunnel just as one is exiting. What timing!
The final thing was seeing 5 SD80-MACs moving sand loads for the Cresson Shops.
Do you thing they had enough horsepower? Yes they were all running.
Also caught Amtrak train in Altoona.
The other photos are on my video camera. I haven't figured out how to download them to computer yet.
