I got my Bachmann E-Z Command Control Center, and I took it out of the box, and pluged the wall charger into it, and the lights came on, then I saw on the front of the instructions, not to plug the wall power supply in untill I have the conections made to the track, well I did not have the connections made. Now when I plug it in the light above the stop button, and the light beside the 1. for locos 1-10 flashes also, both flash real fast. I have read the instructions as best I can, and it does not say how to fix it or why not to plug it in before makeing the track connections. Please Help [IMG] [IMG]

And I have a Anolog Loco, tryed it on the track, and off no joy, it seems like it may be in programming mode or something...

    NCNS-08:

I have a E-Z command controler that was in storage, I became curious and pulled it out to see if I could replicate your problem.

Firstly, having power on to your controller before connecting to your track is not a big issue. It is not good practice all the same, connecting after power up may cause a few sparks.

My best guess is that you have a short arross your tracks. When ever there is a short (train derailment, miss-matched track polarity) the controller lights will flash.

So my suggestion is to set up a simple sraight length of track, connect this to your controller, then plug your power supply into your controller. You should then have three lights showing on your controller, one underneath the stop button, one by the direction button and one by the loco 1-10 buttons. At that stage you should be able to run a loco.

It is not a good idea to run analog DC locos on DCC track. Because track power is always on it can cause DC motors to over heat when not in use just sitting on the track. Some DC locos will sit and hum.

The Bachmann controller is a really basic simple DCC controller that is easy to use and should give you hours of fun. Programming is confined to changing loco addresses and setting up multiple lashups. There is no programming mode as such.

You do need to get a DCC controlled loco or get a decoder for DC loco. Anyway check your tracks.

    Have fun, Ken.

I also have a BACHMANN DCC Controller, EZ-Command, but for some reason I can not find the POWER PACK that came with the BOX, so what I am asking is can I use another POWER PACK of the same value power-wise or not

I'd be very surprised if you couldn't. But if you're very concerned about it, I'm sure you could get a replacement from Bachmann.
