I could use some... Just the shells in fact. I thought Intermountain might come out with phase 1s but no luck. I would like to do an ABA set of Northern Pacific freight units. Can anybody help me out? Thanks.
Kato F3's Wish your request would have been much earlier.... the only UNDEC set I had was painted in my Great Northern Pacific scheme: I always wonder though, what Kato's "problem" is with doing anything Northern Pacific?!? If someone knows the answer... let's hear it. Then again, maybe I shouldn't wonder all that much... after all look at what they "pushed off" for EMPIRE BUILDER cars. :tb-mad:
But is that a Phase 1 A-unit? I thought those had three portholes? Kato lists them in their parts section, but I've never really seen one. I know I could use some of those three porthole F3A's.
Not exactly what you're looking for but..... I have a friend who is getting out of N-scale. He has a beautifully custom painted ABBA set of Kato NP F-7's He only wants $175. he also has sereral Atlas Geep's and switchers for $35 each PM me if anyone is interested.
Correct, according to The Second Diesel Spotter's Guide they are phase II, phase I A units did indeed have three portholes. Kato and IM's ATSF warbonnets should be phase I not II which why they have the elongated warbonnet to go round the missing middle porthole. The only plastic phase I I know of were the old Con-Cor Roco/Fleischmann made units, and they don't really cut it in today's Kato/Intermountain world.
To all tuned here: I've seen these NP F-7's, custom paint job and they are absolutely awesome and would look good on anyone's layout. The owner of these units has taken excellent care of them. Well worth the price. No they aren't GN but worth a consideration. I thought about picking them up but, I was busy buying some ATSF Geeps. Excellent runners. wink:
