    Probably
40% - Great Northern, (specially since the recent skunk works activity), There is something about that Orange / Olive I really like.
    25% - Canadian Pacific – I love bright colors
30% - Mixed some of which will be bearing the G&G logo.
I tend to buy my engines in pairs so I have:
    2 BAR GP30s, 2 BNSF GP35s, - For service on the G&G
2 Santa Fe Turbines for the motor pool on the main,
    2 DRGW – 2-6-0 For excursions
    1 Bullet – Cause I wanted it
3 LL UP GP20s and a couple of old 2nd hand GPs – To be repainted G&G

5% - Who knows, at the bottom of my box somewhere.

All but one of mine are SP. The lone ranger is an ATSF H16-44. I had to have it!

The majority of my locomotives are lettered for the Pennsy, as are ALL my passenger cars and a slight majority of my freight cars, the single exception being hoppers. For hoppers, they are predominantly in the colors of the Bessemer & Lake Erie.

Take the St. Louis Gateway! Missouri Pacific: Route of the Eagles!

Oh, for me freight rolling-stock is about 65% Missouri Pacific (including ART reefers), and the other 35% is Union Pacific, ATSF, PFE, DRGW, private oil shippers. By the way, my freight car fleet numbers about 20 cars currently.

Passenger cars are all Missouri Pacific, a Con-Cor set substituting for Texas Eagle-specific cars.

Motive Power is 83% Missouri Pacific, 17% Southern Pacific (this is a total of 5 engines).

So there you have it, the approximate measure of my meager fleet.

I answered the poll as in units only, not freight or non-revenue.

Since I do early BNSF, mainly BN, Santa Fe and patched and H1, H2 and rent-a-wrecks. This makes up 75% of my fleet or should I say my wife's fleet. For me I had modeled early Guilford which ment B&M, Maine Central and D&H. I have since back dated to B&M 1978. New England power is about 20%. 5% is just whatever I felt like painting up, like the CB&Q GP-30 I'm doing right now.

See that this posted under N-Scale, but since it doesn't seem to be restricted to N-Scale, here is my HO-Scale lineup (locomotives only):

    Seaboard Air Line 67%
    Southern Railway 23%
    Atlantic Coast Line 10%

Originally... in 1983... I purchased an ATSF warbonnet passenger set and a couple of D&RGW PA units. I sold off the passenger cars and repainted the F units into D&RGW. I decided to amass D&RGW units... but they were not very common. I started buying some of the connecting routes which included Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, MoPac, Western Pacific, Burlington... and yes... even a couple of Union Pacific. In the 1990s the availability of Rio Grande units began to increase... but never to the extent that other roads such as Santa Fe, SP, WP, GN etc... I found it necessary to expand my horizons to various western roads and create the fictititous BRG&P railway. Rio Grande is still the focus of the railroad, but, it is only about 15% of the fleet and that is despite purchasing multiple F units from Kato & Intermountain... not to mention GPs & SDs from Atlas & LifeLike. Santa Fe and Southern Pacific dominate the roster with about 20% each with 10% or less of Burlington, Western Pacific, Northern Pacific, Great Northern. Other roads have only a minor representation of 5% or less such as; MoPac, Rock Island, Frisco, SP&S & KCS. Union Pacific motive power is no longer represented... those engines were either traded away or sold off.

In-so-far as rolling stock... I can't even begin to examine the make-up of those items... but... it is safe to say that every western road is well represented... even Union Pacific.

Correct, this is not a N-scale-only poll... just happened to be where I put it initially

More than half of my locos and rolling stock is for the Milwaukee Road. I collect rolling stock of Midwest roads so they're running on my pike as well. For more variety I have some cars of western and eastern railroads.

I have a mixture of the Colorado Railroads on my Manitou Springs layout, plus my ficticious CCR Colorado Central Railroad.
My loco servicing model called Mission Street has a right mixture. but I like the models my wife Helen and I have.

I voted based on my motive power. I would guess 50% NS, 30% Chessie (and heritage, note: NO CSX), 15% B&O and 5% other (DT&I, KCS)

As for my rolling stock, I can't remember (I store it all up at a buddy's garage), but I have mostly Chessie, NS, and heritage road stock.

    No UP.

In the past it has been calculated that most railroads are about 70% home road. This can make for a rather boring layout though. I have, or plan to have a very high percentage of certain cars such a sugar beet 2 bay hoppers and cattle cars (if MTL ever makes 'em again). I model the western CB&Q. I now have about 20% of the 500 cars Q and about 30% on my locomotives. This percentage will go up if I can get the aforementioned. In larger scales with less cars on the pike I think you would want a lesser percentage for variety reasons. I plan on getting all 500 cars on the table. I run about 30 car trains with 3/4 units.

30% of my remaining locos are Erie Lackawanna, 15% are ramdom single units and about 21% are solid eastern road 3/4 unit consists I have abot 103 units. I am currently trying to build up the number of EL cars. Thank the Lord for E-Tailers. I could not have found 20% of the items otherwise.

All of my stuff is pre 1970.
