I've installed the JMRI Decoder Pro, but I am having difficulty using it. Has anybody else had experience getting started with this program...
It can be difficult getting Decoder Pro to recognize your interface device (PR3, Locobuffer, Sprog II). What sort of device, what sort of connection (USB, Serial), and what sort of platform (MacOS, Windows, Linux, etc.) are you using?
Hi & welcome to the world of JMRI! Are you aware that there is a very active user group on yahoo? (groups.yahoo.com). Search for JMRI. And yes, JMRI has a relatively steep learning curve, but it is manageable. You can find manuals and a lot of helpful documents on the sourceforge website, too. My advice would be to take your time and try the many examples and use the clinics. hth Michael
I have a Dell tower, running Windows 2000. Since I have a Digitrax system, I am using a Digitrax PR3 interface with it's own power supply, and a USB cable connection. What I want to do right now, is first, place a loco on the program track (not connected to the layout or DB150, connected only to the PR3) and read all the CV's, then create a file to save the info. Second, I want to use Decoder Pro to modify the speed tables so they can all MU together. What's the quick way to do these things?
