I have a number of these units to recoupler. They recommend #33 in the instructions but those seem a bit short shanked. I am leaning towards a long shanked coupler. Any thoughts or ideas about how to go about this?

    BN9900,

I have several of these from the pre Walthers days and used the 33s on the rear. They give a nice close coupling. If you're installing couplers on the pilot, the 36s are longer and I have used those on E6s and E7s where there's more of a slope on the pilot. The 30 series also have that extra swiveling pocket so there are two levels of coupler swivel (a compound swivel?) for track curves and turnouts vs. just dropping a #5 for a single swing.
