Is there a way to check out why my N&W is dead? Removed the DCC because it died and now back to factory but still not working DEAD! Is there a way to check anything before I have to send it away? Ron

You said you removed the DCC. Was it hard-wired, or a drop-in board? If a board, did you replace the DCC board with the original board?

In basic terms, you need to trace the power path from the rail heads to the motor leads. I use a set of clip leads. Clip one end to a rail head, then touch it to the opposite side of the frame, and see if it shorts. If it does, try the other side. If either side is not hot, then the problem is in the trucks. If both frame halves are hot, then check the contacts to the motor. If possible, use the clip leads to directly power the motor from the rails to check if the motor died (motor brushes are worn out). If the motor won't run from direct wires, it may have caused the DCC to overload.

I feel you pain! Go back to the basics. See if you've got juice coming to the jumper posts. Then as MOPAC suggested, temporarily put power to the motor leads. What decoder were you using?

I was using the Tsunami 750. I took the DCC out and installed the two jumper clips on the , which was in with the DCC, original pcb board which make it back to factory but it still won't run. Don't want to take the loco apart to test if possible. Should be a way to see if motor in burned out with multi meter. loco Under warranty.Than I have to check 750. Ron
