Been working on this Stewart U25B lately. I had to change out the motor in it among other things. The motor was an Athearn type (seen in foreground). Replaced it with a Proto Power West motor which can be seen in the photo below. Stewart chassis and shell, PPW motor, P2K shafts, flywheels, truck, Athearn gears and wheels, Bachmann 8 pin socket, Digitrax DZ143 decoder. I also rebuilt this P2K E6. Thought it had a bum motor but it turned out there was piece of wire wrapped around the motor shaft between the motor and front flywheel. I have no idea how it got there as I picked it up second hand a couple of years ago and just got around to tearing it down.
Scratch-built Woolen Mill in N I just finished up on this project this week after about a week's worth of on and off working. The windows were a small curse but I survived the hours of cutting! I have driven by this old structure in town countless times and each time have told myself that I was going to build it some day. Well, I ordered 60 windows and went to work last week when they arrived. The building was originally a woolen mill but is presently used as a food pantry for surplus food for the poor. Before building, I had to make a few concessions: a lot of the building cannot be seen from the road, nor will the back be seen on my layout. Therefore, I did not model the lower level, not seen because the structure is built on a ridge, the land sloping behind the main structure. So, I built it to sit flat on my layout but, I think I captured the essence of the thing. The roof did not turn out the way I planned it because of a little "puckering" and some day, if I don't become used to it, I may replace it. I will also add more detail when I permanently place it on the layout.

I know this isn't prototypical at all... but... goofing around with my finally running switching layout I'm thinking when I get to the point of focusing on a single line I should go CSX
I managed to get my CSX GP30 almost complete, just in time to take part in the weekend's photo fun. I also managed to pick up an Overland CSX caboose at the swapmeet today. Jon
