I took these photos last Thursday between the pikemasters Morning show and the afternoon meeting. UP Motive power next to the Depot. UP 1396, an Ex-SP GP40-2, is the current local switcher. Looking back at the yard from the Bijou street bridge. After being there for less than 5 minutes, this manifest showed up.
BNSF 4417 leading, KCS 4044 trailing. rolling on past BNSF 4617 is the DPU for today rolling away from me. That was all I got because the nearest train at the time was at Palmer Lake, and I really didn't feel like sticking around THAT long.
I know Ive asked some duh questions on TB:tb-err:But whats the derail thingy for??? Great pics by the way. Cheers Stu
Thats to derail the car there instead of it reaching the end of the track and running into the MOW facility that got built there. It keeps cars from rolling into areas where they can do extreme damage.
