Yea I know there supposed to pull like a mule, but I guess mine's lite footed..
I finally got around to putting a decoder in it, added some tungston putty in the decoder area, and filled the cab area with tungston ( replacing the stock cab weight ) . It is pulling better now, but...I don't think the traction tire is making real good contact. It seems to slip and then catch traction as the driver turns. Small traction tire?? wheel bearings ??.
Anyway I am thinking of adding the snot of a Bullfrog to the traction tire driver. Has anyone else done this ? I am thinking this will work as I only need to build it up a small amount . Any other suggestions ?????.....Mike

We had a discussion about this earlier and the consensus seems to be the bearing blocks. Should be a thread back a few months here on the issue and fixes.

Thanks John, I did review that post and remember it now. Was really hoping not to have to take it apart that far. Think I'll try the BFS first and see how that works out, just wondering if anyone else had tried BFS on these locos yet.....Mike

I remove the factory rubber bands and fill the slot with BULLFROG SNOT. Build up the layers over several days, allowing each to cure first, until you reach the optimum level.

Well I went and bought the bullfrog today. Applied it over the origional traction tires, and it is cureing at this time. Should know tomorrow weather it fixed the problem.....Mike

BULLFROG SNOT does not like fresh factory blackened wheels - such as come on the B-Mann 2-8-0. Scuff 'em up a bit for better results. Over existing rubber TT's, sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Which is why removing them gives a more consistent result.
