It's been a while since I had any "new" pics of the RR so here is one from the new file. A westbound freight rolls through West Conway en route to Van Buren for a crew change.
Still adding to the corner of the layout, I purchased some tiny [1mm] grain of wheat bulbs. Three of them have been draped behind the background trees just above the loco to look like distant lights. They light the backscene at the moment, but I hope to be able to move it back a few inches some day. It's only propped up in this photo. I disguised the join in the two panels with Paintshop Pro. and the overall view
My latest acquisition, an Espee 4-10-2 #5011 from Westside imports. Picked it up on consignment a couple of weeks ago at my LHS, painted and weathered her. Here she is lifting a 23-car freight up the 2.2% grade out of South Yuba canyon on my Yuba River Subdivision. She's a very smooth, very powerful locomotive, but anything under a 34" radius, she'll try and straighten out the curves, LOL! Tom
Thanks guys. Here is another shot (overview) of the area although you can't see the tunnel from this angle. Same freight, just slightly ahead of the previous shot. Still more to do after the branch overhead is completed.
Here we have the Capital Ltd. & the Broadway Ltd. hitting the station as The Lake Cities & Phoebe Snow hold on the side tracks.
CW gon with Chooch load Working on the CW 5037 gon with a Chooch load...they both received an India Ink wash, next will be some weathering. The SWP 2006 is paired with the Grande 3056. and then there are some vehicle shots...
