Holy cow! I never would have thought that they would just pull the plug until summer is mostly over. I guess its the cooling off period?? I hope that it comes back when that time comes. However, I'm glad I have an option to go to in here. Maybe it's Atlas's way of saying "Stop posting and work on your layout (or the yard, paint the house, etc) Peter
I can't believe it! Something is going on we don't know about. That message makes no sense. I'm sure someone will find out the truth. Oh well, I'm sure glad this site is here . ...Mike
With Atlas closed, will have to figure out who's who on this board now. Since some have different handles over here. Going to be an interesting summer.
The lack of any warning is most curious; my intuition also is that something happened. The Atlas forum was tolerant of much nonsense; when it returns this may no longer be so. It will be interesting to see.
I am also a lurker at the Atlas forum and I couldn't believe it when I tried to get on the forum tonight that it was closed. I was going to check if there were any replies to a post I put up this afternoon. My post was - does anyone know if the N scale Athearn Sieco boxcars are out yet? They were dur out in June.
I find some people (including me) spend a lot of time on forums, so this might not be that bad a thing. Summer is there, go outside. It's time to airbrush that pile of kits or to go railfanning!
Magicman, that's not far from the truth with me. Working on two layouts right now, a little alone time might be just the ticket. Wow, actual modeling.

Same handle over here, pretty much a lurker until the ship goes down with all hands! Some of the Conrail guys are floatin' around over on Railwire, lookin' around to see who's gone where. I'm having WAY too much fun with the digital camera and the Shay project to up & quit until AUGUST..... Cheese & Rice! Anyway, when I FINALLY get a box of parts from RLW I'll make some more progress on that one.
I was surprised too when I tried to visit the Atlas forum this afternoon. Usually they announce a week or more in advance before shutting down for the summer, previously the month of July. It does make you wonder if something else prompted them to shut down like this. Anyway, I'm glad that there is Trainboard, and I expect I'll be spending a lot of time here.
