Thought I'd share this recently completed engine that came off the bench finally. This is Kato SD40-2 unit that has had several upgrades performed on it. Still some minor things that I'll need to fix at some point (brake wheel being one), but I'm happy with the overall look of it as is. I thought about tracking down the two Athearn FEC SD40-2 units, but have grown to dislike the RTR line for some reason... Changes/Details Include: - Details West Air Hoses - Details West Ditch Lights - 603 SMD Warm White LEDs for the ditch lights and new headlights - BLMA RV Style A/C Units - Canon and Company Radiator Screens - Kato Mu Cable - Microscale Decals - Kadee #158 couplers - Custom Weathered - Hardwired Trucks - Touch up paint by Polly Scale, had to custom mix the various shades of gray and yellow to match I'm planning a couple of more of these, including the 714 and 703 that are sporting the newer, "retro" paint scheme. Thats a sweet model, you should start a thread highlighting all your work. I am contemplating having a new loco sent to you for some super detailing and weathering just have to work out which model
Thanks Paul. Just drop me a PM or email through my website whenever you're ready. Just click on the Lakeshore Model Trains link in my signature. Most of the work I've done lately is there although some of the stuff going back a few years is still at the old site (www.briansnscale.com). It's a slow transition from one to the other, but they'll be consolidated soon enough... Brian
