Taken 23 years to get to this point. Also 18,000 feet of wire. This is how our town looked in the 1930s and 40s. And yes, the Pennsylvania Railroad ran down the middle of the street.
That's a great layout, would love to see more pictures. I have ridden some of the bike trails around Xenia.
What I can see looks excellent. A great result for all the time invested for sure. Love the street running shot! More pictures would be most welcome.
Thanks! Since this is my first post on here I was not sure how many pics I was allowed to post. I will post more this weekend. We tried to be as accurate as possible but had to change a few things. The real yard had a lot more tracks but we wanted it also to be fully functional. We are now working on an automatic circuit so when the Pennsy passenger train gets to the station it stops and a freight train starts in the opposite direction. After one lap the freight will stop and the passenger train will start again. We are having a little problem with the throttle control as the freight needs full throttle to make an incline. There is also a crossover where the B&O and the Pennsy cross. A safety circuit stops the other train if one is in the crossing.
A few more pics of the layout. A few years ago we took a break from working on this and restored a full size caboose.
