Planning a trip next summer on the Coast Starlight from LA to Seattle and it appears that there are Bus connections because they have Bus icons in the schedule. I thought it was a straight thru ride by train with stops along the way. I don’t want to transfer to buses along the way. Can someone please clarify this for me? http://www.amtrak.com/ccurl/76/405/Coast-Starlight-Schedule-060914.pdf
Yea its a straight thruway. Those are bus connections so if you wanted to go to Vancouver and some of BC.
Oh thanks J911, wow that’s a relief. My wife noticed it first and I was just about to change my plans. Thanks again.
Not a problem. I've done the trip get a sleeper and youll enjoy the trip. Get one with a private shower if you can it's more enjoyable I did it just because im a germ a phobe.lol
Thanks, I do plan on a sleeper and I’m trying to plan it so I can catch a 7 day Alaskan Cruse in Seattle and return to LA by train, but it's still up in the air if we will fly back. Right now I’m trying to figure out how to get from King Street Station to Cruise Terminal 91. I’ll have to get there a day early and stay the night in Settle due to the late arrival time.
Can't blame you there. Hygiene is something poorly taught today, by both parents and schools. Some of the people I've had around me on trains are real slobs, or simply don't give a rip about anyone else around them.
The connection from Seattle to Vancouver includes bus service, but there are also two daily runs each way between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. I ride the Amtrak Cascades at least once a year, to Vancouver, to Portland, OR, or both. Metro Transit's #24 bus will get you from 4th and Jackson (1 block away from King Street Station) to Pier 91.
My daughter works in a gambling casino and she says that sometimes they have to send people home to shower after a couple of days at the card tables.
The Coast Starlight is a excellent train. Since you are going from LA to Seattle a bedroom is a must. There is two nights on the train. The proper name for the Coast Starlight is the Coast Starlate. Rarely on time
