http://www.athearn.com/Search/Default.aspx?SearchTerm=Bombardier+Coach&CatID=TNRP Figured I'd post this. As no one has yet. Due March 2017 I believe reservations are due May 27 (I need to get working to afford a set)
Great news, but the Metrolink logo and livery are already out of date (and Athearn is based in Metrolink country, shame on them...).
Yeah, but the new Metrolink one isn't great. Which isn't saying much, because the old one isn't fantastic either. I think CalTrain and Coaster look best.
You know, some people model railroads because of the locations they model, not because of which paint scheme they think is prettiest...
And the cab cars for the new GO TRANSIT scheme are not prototypical http://www.railpictures.ca/upload/n...eep-this-together-a-while-engine-on-the-train
i really hope they upgraded the trucks. i had a few cars from the first run and they were terrible runners.
Kind of odd they haven't re run the New Mexico rail runner cars, especially after Kato made that beautiful KOBO locomotive in NMRX livery. I never see them on ebay, and the kids seem to think they're great. Maybe they're just ready to give way to Kato making their own series of these cars. Just seems weird.
Yeah, I realize that. I'm in L.A. myself... But you can't honestly tell me that's the most attractive scheme out of all the commuter lines.
I do have to admit... Releasing the engines in the new Metrolink, and then releasing the cars in the old... Probably not the best idea.
While I would love Athearn to release another set of Sounder cars, I wish they would release new trucks/wheels so the cars roll better.
I think the reason being is that there's only a tiny number of Bombardier coaches in the new paint scheme; most of them are still in the original scheme, and others are wrapped (i.e. Bike Cars, Angels Express, etc).
