A really fine selection this week... is it me or it's kinda steamy (and smoky) in here?

I like the angle on Hardcoaler's photo of Southern 4501 - it makes that machine look like an impressive beast.

The photo is from 1974 taken at The Dalles Oregon on the Union Pacific

 

U.P. 844 in Greyhound paint some years later

 

I wonder if she (844, 8444) will ever run again.

 

The UP Steam Team is aiming to have 844 ready and approved to pull the Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days train trip from Denver to Cheyenne on July 23, 2016
