Ah. So it has been restored. I remember seeing this in a video, years ago. I believe was the old PBS episode of National Geographic "Love Those Trains" on VHS.

In the latest "Crew Car" published by the San Bernardino RR Historical Society, caretakers of the AT&SF 3751, there is mention of a possible (just dreaming, not yet arranged) doubleheader featuring the 2926 and 3751, to the Grand Canyon. Wouldn't that be something? I should live so long to see this.

Sorry about the hiatus. I ran in to a work issue and a deadline....

I discovered shift related depression, Grin, after fifteen years of midshifts. Working days now, it is a whole new world, I had to turn in my fangs and cloak.

Prepare for a massive post. Grin.

Perhaps the most exciting development is the flue installation.

    The photos.

Thanks for your return and wealth of information, Kevin. Wow, it won't be long now looking at how quickly those tubes and flues are being installed. I own a couple of them.

Thanks for supporting the flue job, it really helps.

Plans are to have a fire in the locomotive for the open house this year. I don't know if we will be mobile, but we should have steam up to blow the whistle.... (and blow out the passages, hydro-test, and plug leaks.)

Just to show me being good, another set of photos.

Am still slowly catching up with the documentary. The loco rebuild itself is fascinating enough, but following everything else ongoing, (such as track work and new concession space), really gives a lot of depth to the entire picture.

Still going through this huge collection of updates!! Has been so interesting to see just how much is involved in bringing a locomotive up to operational status. Thank you again for your time and efforts in bringing these photos to us. Robert

I can almost feel excitement levels rising. Great to see that rack of tubes emptied.

Fascinating seeing the loco in snow scene.

I sure hope you folks can get a fire in that boiler. The excitement level would skyrocket!

Thanks again, Kevin. This restoration is probably the best documented one that ever took place and I'm sure it will be successful.
