<MCRS to be bought out again by the recently captured Dane N. and all locos to be painted yellow and pink> After being reunited with his locomotive by whatever that old witches name is, Dane has purchased the MCRS when no one was looking. He took the pride of the fleet, the SD45 and painted it Pink with Yellow spots! Dane also planted a NS logo square on the centre of the nose as he knew it would make the Chessie start to hisssss at him! He then proceed to order GEs and paint them Yellow and Pink. EBCRL was also reaquired by Dane N, however he did add intermodal, a major change for the Link! For immediate Release: Interwest Rail System announces 1st Quarter Financial results. For the first quarter of FY2000, Revenue was $568 million. Net Revenue was $144 million. Expected Revenue was $475 million, with net revenue of $90 million. Increased revenue came from increased train speeds as the result of the grade separation of over 300 crossings in 1999, with another 400 scheduled for completion in 2000. With all IWRS lines to be completely grade seperated by 2002, revenue and traffic growth should continue. IWRS stock is at $158.25 per share as of Wednesday's close, up $5.40 per share. In other financial news, IWRS will have a 5-for-1 stock split on June 2, for all shareholders of record as of April 28th. This is in response to the strong climb of IWRS common stock. IWRS believes the split will enable more people to buy at a less expensive price than the current price allows. The stock has risen over 100 points since the last split in November, and currently is trading at $150+ per share.

A map was found archived in Normal, Illnois, showing interchange points around the Toledo area, c 1952. Although operation on the Maumee and Cuyahoga was not included, there are fourteen flags shown on the map, including the Toledo Terminal RailRoad. TTRR was operated by C&O, through the Chessie days. Maumee and Cuyahoga wasn't the only line that didn't appear on the map. Two other pikes, Michigan Road (MR) and Maumee River System (MRS) were also missing from the map. MR was the parallel link with NYC's Michigan Central to Blissfield; MRS was redundant to Wabash and NKP out to Ft Wayne. MR and MRS were to have joined when Toledo Union Terminal opened but an editorial in the Toledo Blade emtitled "Why would anyone want to leave Toledo?" raised public opinion against any railway that went to Michigan or Indiana. Of course, there was a long-held belief that Michigan and Ohio never ratified the agreement establishing their state line. The first cartographer in the area presumed the Maumee River would be the southern limit of the Michigan Territory. Michigan and Ohio were so incensed by the competition over Toledo the two states raised militia and there were border skirmished between the Ottawa River and Maumee River, to determine whether Mochigan or Ohio would have Toledo in their territory when statehood was declared. Of course, as everyone knows, Ohio lost. ------------------
M&CRS is a fictional road. homemade by me. How dare you speak that way you michigan fan. Yes I know toledo terminal is or was owned by the Chessie System (and latter CSXT) at one time. ------------------ Theres no such thing as having to many coal hoppers or GP40-2 when you model Chessie System LONG LIVE THE KITTEN!!! The A&A will retire the last 5 remaining U25B s in June because of a major derailment on April 28th, 2000. U25B # 6003and 6005 were haulung a 60 car coal train around a sharp and steap grade-turn the 3 helpers in the back were EMD GP38-2 s .(There had always been problems that the GE U25B s had 8 notches and the EMD s had 16, and responded to ONLY the even numbered notches. ) The engineer pulled the throttle down to the 3rd notch as the the rear EMDs didn't respond. The helpers pushed the middle of the train off the rails and before the rookie engineer noticed, he put the throttle up to five and the helper engines didn't respond causing 45 of the 60 cars to climb the rails and roll down the mountainside takingone of the helpers with them . the lead 2 engines were thrown off the rails and landed on there side at a heavily used grade crossing in downown Windy Tunnel.
M&CRS to retire last GP38-2 M&CRS is planing on retiring there last GP38-2 after a it was FRA bad ordered. The unit which is wearing a heavly faded ATSF paint with markings painted out and a piece of metal in primer where the dynamic brakes were removed was built in the mid 1990s by lifelike products licened by EMD. the unit's poor drive and traction tires caused it to imedatley fall out of favor with upper management. The unit was modifyed with its dynamics removed for switching but the drive was left alone. M&CRS is pondering the possiblity of turning the unit into a control cab. ------------------ Theres no such thing as having to many coal hoppers or GP40-2 when you model Chessie System LONG LIVE THE KITTEN!!! CHAT PILE LINE REPORT April 30, 1976 Oklahoma & North Eastern has announced plans to lease Missouri Pacific's Carthage Branch from Joplin to Carthage, MO. MP had announced its intent to embargo the line in preparation for abandonment, citing low traffic levels. The remaining online shippers and O&NE (who presently interchanges with MP in Joplin) expressed concern over the loss of this line, and the subsequent loss of rail service. The lease is pending ICC approval, but no problems are expected, and no other bids have been submitted to either MP or the ICC. In Miami, B.F. Goodrich has completed its plant expansion in response to its increased share in the tire industry. O&NE expects to handle more cars from this facility, which al ready requires daily service. Joplin District Terminal has leased its sole motive power, NW2 4692, to Empire Dist- rict Electric Cooperative for use at the Riv- erton power plant, The locomotive will be used to switch loaded coal hoppers in, and empty coal hoppers out. Coal is supplied to EDEC Riverton from Peabody Coal near Catale, OK, and is shipped on the St. Louis-San Francisco by a mini-unit train. O&NE has loaned RS11 1801 to JDT in return to handle Joplin switching. JDT is a subsidiary of the O&NE. In other motive power news, former Frisco RS2M 552 has arrived on the property, the first re-engined Alco on the roster. Still in Frisco black & white, the "morphodite", as it is unflatteringly called by both SLSF and O&NE crews alike, will be used in both local switching service and road service. Although O&NE officials have stated previously their affinity for Alco locomotives, this is an in- teresting choice. 552 joins GE 44-tonner 4 and RS1 102, both in Frisco black & yellow colors. Caboose 2 is in the paint shops in preparation for its Bicentennial paint job. The former Northeast Oklahoma caboose was purchased from a scrapyard in Kansas for sentimental reasons (this line is the former NEO), and will join Frisco and Katy as one of several red, white & blue hacks on the rails. There have been rumors that one of O&NE's locomotives will be painted into the former Northeastern Oklahoma colors of maroon & light gray, but no official word yet from GM R.J. Thompson. The IPD boxcar business continues to boom, as 100 50-foot boxcars in O&NE blue & yellow now roam the rails, earning revenue for the line. ONE officials state as long as the program is successful, and the need for boxcars is great, the railroad will continue to participate in this program. Ship it on the CHAT PILE LINE! ------------------ Ship IT on the Frisco! Bob T.
The A&A railroad have just recieved the 25 GP7/9s from Ontario from bein rebuilt by EMD. also, the A&A sent their only BL2 along for rebuilding.the new features includes: Upgraded Dynamic Brakes, Radial trucks, all new wiring. Modern "office desk" style control board. Electric Bell, EMD Standard 4-chime air horn. debris plow. Fiber optic lights, and a upgraded engine fron 2,800 HP to 3,500 hp. The BL2 had the same thing done but, also had major frame repairs. Also with the business increasing dramatically, the A&A will buy 10 SD80MACs. The A&A borrowed 5 from CSX to test. The A&A is going to start the tearing up of the old Dusty Mountain subdivision next week. Rumor were several ghost are located at the mouth of the Hult hill Tunnel, it started in 1903 when an engineer had his brakeman go back along the train to investigate a hissing sound from the third car. the Brakeman stuck his head under the car to look with his lantern and the play let go in the cars and cut his head off. it is said to be a ghost to Scream loudly when a train passes by. Another is set in 1972 when 5 14 year old boys were walking the Railroad traks to one of the boys house, as they walked around a turn, there was a long, but low trussel infront of then that was part of a blind, fast curve. a through-freight came right at them at 40 mph 4 boys ran but one jumped down the 4 feet high trussel. the four boy on the bridge were runover. the engineer commited suicide and the brakeman was thrown from the train. He was bruised, but not injured, the one boy had an arm and an eyeball landbside ofhim, he freaked out and had a mental problem to this day. another happened in 1996, the A&A had abandoned the line 3 years earlier but an older lady in her 60 's was walking up the tracks with her husband when a 3 three engines that were running without a train about 25mile per hour, the engineer said he hit the brakes and ran out on the front porch of the lead SD40-2 when he saw them, and started to yell to get out of the way, the train hit them before he ever got out of the door way. The A&A abandoned the line because of all the paranormal activity in the area, such as one conductor recalled seeing a small UFO about the size of a "95 Ford F-150 pickup truck land in the empty gondola ahead of the caboose he was in. he ent out side and climbed in to the car after he reprted the sighting to the engineer and told him to contact the dispatcher and stop the train he took pictures of it but when the photos were developed, nothing showed up one them the whole crew were put in ASYLUM in Charleston,WV they wrere inthere for about 2 weeks and finally wer put through a lie-detector test, and they all passed, but unfortunately, they wer=e all crazy from just the thought of livin the rest of there live in an asylum. There's my 5 1/9 ths worth of storys. This really did happen in Moonville, OH however. Spome one who's lived in Ohio for more than a year should know all the stories.
I've been called a lot of things, but having been born in Toledo and lived in Lucas, Wood, Cuyahoga, or Allen counties before escaping to the road, NEVER a Michigan fan! 'Like your made-up road; stumbled onto your posting searching for Northern Ohio RR info; I'll spend more time on N forum.

I have a ton of questions about your Maumee & Cuyahoga RR. I posted 'em on the N forum and I'm too lazy to go back over there and copy/paste. I've also posted a topic on the Erie-Lackawanna forum you might be able to help with. Or not. I won't know 'till later, will I?
B.F. Goodrich, a manufacturer of tires, has announced the expansion of its Miami, OK plant has been completed, thus allowing the facility to increase production. The increased production will mean more traffic for O&NE in Miami. The increased traffic has put a strain on the motive power fleet, and has put the railroad in the market for used Alco power. The search is on for another RS3 or perhaps an RS11 to be used on road trains. ANy reasonable offers will be considered. ------------------ Ship IT on the Frisco! Bob T.
Orca Mountain RR GG-1 update: The ten dieselized GG1s, now designated "GG-1Ds" have been measured as producing 4700 hp at 45mph on a 2 percent grade. Fears that the GG-1Ds were haunted because engineers were hearing ocean wave sounds were allayed when it was found that the government surplus diesels had served aboard Navy warships. Passenger service news: OMRR purchased over three dozen passenger cars at a secret sale sponsered by nine major and minor railroads. It was announced that the beautiful cars would NOT be repainted for some time so that railfans could enjoy the rich variety of road names representeded in the purchase. It is likely that the same policy will be followed with newly aquired freight cars as well. "We at OMRR are all railfans, and many more live in and visit this area. Lets enjoy the rich history of our rolling stock!" enthused RR president Curt Vernon ------------------ If you're not having fun model RRing, you're missing the point!
