I have a bunch of Trainworx flexivan cars , 3 for IC and 4 for Milwaukee Road. I've had them for a while, and had previously only run one of the IC cars. I was testing out my new Olympian Hiawatha and thought it would be fun to run them. But they wouldn't stay coupled to anything else (only to each other ). On checking , all the couplers were very high.......the IC cars were better, the car I had used before was fine, the 2nd had one high coupler and the 3rd had both high. These cars have body mount couplers and the coupler box is molded in to the bottom of the car, so shimming isn't an option. I finally resorted to placing each car on a wooden dowel (so I could rock the car back and forth) and gently bending the ends of the car till the couplers were at the right height. Bending the frame of a metal car is not my idea of a recommended fix, but it worked. Has anyone else had an issue with these cars? These cars are packaged in one of those clamshell cradles that has 4 "fingers" that press down on the top of the car and you have to open it up to get the car out. I'm wondering if somehow those fingers put enough pressure on the cars to bend them (they've been in the boxes for 4 or 5 years) or if they started out that way from the factory. Any thoughts or recommendations?
