I apologize for not knowing what MILW Division covered Lewistown, MT, but I thought y'all might like this photo of the Lewistown depot from the John W. Barriger Collection, along with some others. I'll post the links, as I can't get them to display.

Some web sites set up so remote linking will not work. :(

As a side note, the Northern Montana Division ceased to exist in early 1959. It was merged into the Rocky Mountain Division. I have a scan of that bulletin, somewhere. (I have an original paper copy in my collection.) There were a others which were merged or re-aligned at that same time. Such as the Idaho Division being split between the Coast and Rocky Mountain Divisions. This also includes some eastern operations.

The old depot in Lewistown is now part of the Yogo Inn. We have stayed there. Rode the Charlie Russel Chew Choo out of Lewistown also operated by the Central Montana Railroad.

We do not seem to hear or read much of this operation now. Is it still ongoing? If so, doing well?

It is still running. We went up to Lewistown for a bowling tournament and couldn't pass up the opportunity to take the dinner train. The train crew also played out a murder mystery involving the passengers. The food was outstanding. The train runs up to Denton where the locomotive runs around to the other end for the trip back. The dining cars are old RDC's from the Boston & Maine I believe with the motors removed.

Well worth the trip if you're in the area.

I would not mind taking such a trip, if I could do so in peace and quiet. Staged holdups, murder mysteries, etc, hold no interest for me. I would just want to enjoy the ride, meal and any scenery.
